Prize - $50 paid via Paypal

Deadline - August 21st but the earlier the better. My client will be making the decision, not me. If someone meets the client requirements early in the process, we may announce a winner before the 21st. Likewise, if nothing suitable has been submitted by the 21st, we may extend it a few days. I will do my best to keep everyone aware of the decision status at all times.

Requirements

Format - Logo must be 100% vector format scalable design that will be compatible with Adobe Illustrator. No exceptions.

Company Name - Telcom

Tagline - Construction Services

Primary Colors - Dark Green & Black. An additional accent color is ok but we'd like to keep the number of colors to a minimum for the sake of versatility.

Usage - The logo must be versatile enough to be used on the web, stationary and also vehicle decals. The logo must translate well into black and white. If it doesn't, we'll need a modified, second design that does.

Theme - Telcom is a wireless construction company. They build cell phone towers. Ideally, it would be best to have a cell tower integrated into the logo but we realize they aren't very easy to represent graphically.

Important - We don't want to be mistaken as a wireless provider. Please don't include images of cell phones or accessories. Telcom is a construction company that specializes in the wireless industry. Having said that, we don't want pictures of bulldozer's either. We're not dead set on the tower concept. If someone comes up with an original concept that represents us well, we'll go with it.

The design can be conceptual or slightly abstract as long as it's clean and professional looking. We're looking for something simple, not overly complex.

No Clipart will be accepted. Original artwork only please! Please watermark your designs for your own protection.

Rights - Upon completion of the transaction, Telcom will own exclusive rights to the logo. We have no problem if the author wants to display it in their portfolio or on their website, we just don't want the same design sold to someone else.

If I've forgotten something, PM me and I'll update the requirements. If you have any questions please PM me as well.

Thank you.

-Bill E.

The concept is good - using the "L" in Telcom as a basis for a cellular tower. I suppose the "T" could be used as well.

In your example, the "L" no longer looks like an "L", it looks more like an "N" and looks more like an oil gusher than a cell tower. This part needs improvement.

Colors are withing the range of what we're looking for.

Fonts are just ok, they don't add or subtract from the design.

The design is simple, that's good.

The client will be taking his first look at the submissions tomorrow afternoon at approx 11am Eastern Time USA.

Again, the client will make the final decision but I've got a good feel for what he's looking for and will provide feedback based on that.

VictoriaAnn - solid 1st draft. It's simple and clean. I'd like to see a little bit more creativity on the font selection, nothing crazy though. My opinion on the graphic is that it's a bit too large compared to the text and is a bit too abstract for my taste. It's not obvious enough to me what it's supposed to be.

Newton - The signal bar concept might work. You did a pretty good job of making it look like a T. It would probably look better with the green added in at the top. My concern is that the design is borderline "cellular service provider" more than "wireless construction contractor". I guess we'll know once we hear the clients feedback. I think we need to choose another font for "elcom". It just doesn't seem to match up well with the rest of the design.

jackieh1791 - This is my favorite so far. I think the signal is too heavy. Maybe reduce it to two levels instead of three. Once you do that, you'll probably be able to shorten the length of the "L" a bit too. I'd like to see the same concept using a more substantial font, something less curvy and more blocky.

Thank you for all your efforts.

I'll comment on the new entries and revisions as soon as possible.

NOTE: The company name is Telcom w/ a tagline of Construction Services.

Koncepts - Nice design. Please remove ".net"

Please remove .net from your submissions. This was never mentioned in the guidelines.

This is a different text style, which I have made a little more interesting. I thought I would see how using the 'CO' worked as a logo on it's own - sometimes it's good to get away from icons used by other players in the field.
