friedchicken: I like the orange entry but not so keen on the antennae. Good lateral thinking but as a digital web tv channel I want to get away from [historical analogue] television images.
Will7, I quite like the $ in the tv but not the font. I prefer the left to right use of text like Ethayne's though.
Patrick - font is not what I am looking for. Conceptually the bar graph is the pick of your entries but a bit of work to do.
Ethayne: the first two are probably my fave so far - don't like the second two. Appropriate image, good colours. I even like the effect the sample watermark leaves in the "The Finance Channel" bit.
Will7 - see comments for your last entry above (a better entry). Not such a big fan of the bar graph.
Ruffio - I like the graph you used in your first design as a concept but the colours need some work. The font generally needs an overhaul but again the first font you used is the best of the three.
Friedchicken - loved (seriously) the financial index background but not the font used or the box/tv concept.
MissLee - Font is good - maybe a bit brighter hue though. Did you dull them down from your first post? (Finance) Folder is just ok. Not quite grabbing me.
UMXCA - not bad, but I like a narrower font, a bit brighter and not too sure about the image.
Garrett - font is probably a bit too narrow for me. Stay away from the box tv concept. I think it actually looks bigger larger?
Ethayne - see above. A better entry.
Jontalbot - always tough going first. Unfortunately the network logo if I can call it that will clash with one of my other logos which I am using so I'm going to have to steer you away from that concept.
Sorry the feedbacks are short. Hopefully by reading them as a group critique you can get an idea of what i want.
I don't want to get everyone to do thousands of revisions for no reward so feel free to sit back for a while if you have entered and see what I say about further entries before resubmitting (if you choose to do so)....or whatever
One thing I don't like is copying so please respect peoples original ideas for the image. At the end of the day a clever image that shows original creative thought will get you a long way to winning this comp.
I don't want the above or below comments to be taken in a way to limit your freedom to design whatever you think is best. However it should be clear to you that:
I am looking for a sharp intellingent image. Although I don't usually say this the "finance" aspect is probably more important than the tv for this particular domain. Having sais that remember that I'm a ".tv fan" so the ".tv" should be in the logo (though it can be a secondary to "financechannel".
I don't particularly like "bubble" fonts - Ethayne's font is pretty close to the mark for the type of image he has used.
