What are your thoughts on buying a 3 number domain name like a .com, .org, .info, .biz or .us? Are they worth getting because of their rarity? Do you believe for example that a 3 number .info will rise in value? Would really appreciate everyones opinion.

All 3NNN names have value IMHO, but do some research, see what the sales range has been in the different tlds and search some of the urls to see how sites are using them. Obviously Area Codes, Union # designations, familar combos, ie 007, 101, 411, repeats, ie 888, unique combos, ie 123, 321, 001 and number combos that could be *stretched* to signify meaning, ie 121, 521, (odds), 241 (two for price of one) etc, are the best bets. Additionally, in Asian cultures, numbers carry more importance and signify concepts and symbolism that integratesinto the language more, than in the West.

Michael said it very well above. :tu:

All I can add, is that I've personally had very good luck selling 3-number domains in most all major extensions. In some crowds, they are just as popular as 3-letter names. I consider them a solid investment.

My 3NNN claim to fame, is that about a year ago, I bumped into 195.us by chance and hand regged it. I went to GoDaddy, (they had a .us special going), it showed it as unavail, but rushed over to eNom where it showed avail and I was able to nab it. It may have been the last 3NNN that was regged w/o a backorder. That plus $3.95 will buy me a latte at Starbucks, but an interesting piece of trivia, (at least to me), nevertheless. :hehe:

Worth buying in my mind, even a dotinfo!

A NNN.com domain is worth more than a LLL.com domain. Always buy them I say.

Hmm... They're good, but I wouldn't say that they have more value than 3LL, at least not at present. They are rarer because they are factored by 10 instead of 26, but 3LL names have many more potential uses and associative meanings. There are some exceptions, of course, but not many.

Thats what I meant when I said they are worth more....I meant they were rarer excuse my error, and yes thats what I was referring to the factor of 10 instead of 26.
