Poof! The last of the 3 digits

I've been told that in the last few days all the remaining 3 digit names have been regged in com, net, org, info, and biz. Last I checked there were only 37 of the .us 3 digits left as well. Seems a cheap bet on rarity as there are only 1000 combinations available in each extension vs 17k+ for the 3 letters. Fun to see how long these last.

That's an interesting, but far-reaching reason to register those domains, I think. Let's hope nothing of note happens like what made 9/11 and 3/11 "of note."

And if its a 9/11-type of event, then odds are good you'll have Feds knocking on your door demanding to know if you had foreknowledge of the event.

Quite unlikely, but plausible. Remember how terrorist cells in the US took positions in stock, options, and futures just before 9/11? Those transactions were cancelled after the event, but it just shows that they were savvy enough to cash in on their deed. Who knows what other transactions weren't detected and they got away with?

There are still 3 character domains left in .net, .org etc., but they are mixed numbers and letters.

There are many other uses - virtually every labor union chapter in America is identified by a number, there are millions of major products identified by a number, there are street addresses for major buildings, hotels, etc. I could go on but you get the idea.
