Is it possible to find new domain names with 3 or 4 characters without numbers or hyphens or all of them have been registered?

3 characters could no longer be registered manually. You have to buy it from somebody.

Back in 2002, I knew nothing yet about domains. I had a plan of buying a domain for my website hosted on freehosting. I was thinking of registering ATF.com an acronym of Against The Flow. But it was not meant to be. Maybe I can buy this domain in the future, probably in 4 to 5 figures.

It is possible in other extensions, but many carry outlandish premium renewals that make them worthless.
