How to find a short URL (3-4 characters total)

Hi, I'm looking for the cheapest URL I can find with 3 or 4 characters total (eg 4.md, r.la) Any extension is fine. From what I've seen so far bidding on afternic looks like the best way to get one. Is there a way to find out when new extensions are going to be released, or any other ideas?

im not sure if you can register 1 character country tld or tld it's reserved.

the .vg domains are $35 and you have a big choice of unregistered ones. Anyone can register .vg domains.

If you are going for the CHEAPEST short url (rather than a more expensive but better QUALITY short url), go for a recently expired 4 letter dot com (eg look at JustDropped.com) and get it for reg fee.

i saw some short ones in the domains available section
2 or 3 character with diff extentions... i think one was a .jp or .info
anyway, thought i'd pass it on, sorry I didn't keep the link

You're basically looking for a 1 character domain + extension.
The secondary market will probably be your best bet (Afternic/sedo) unless you go IDN (See midano.com for IDN conversion info) in a lesser extension.

I own lot of IDNs, but also the domain 7.pn
I think one of the shortest on the internet!

Almost all 1 letter domains are registered.

.vg is good, especially good for viagra sites.

.vg or throw some low ball offers at some .be owners. Also look up random country code extensions that have no restrictions.
