Anybody seen this: http://domainsarefree.com/. Globat is now offering $3.99 domains.

Has anyone tried out their system? What kinds of management options does it include?

...Yikes! It doesn't check to see if the domain is registered until _after_ you give them your credit card info.

GoDaddyGoDaddy
1 year $3.99
2 years $12.98
3 years $21.97

$3.99x2=$7.98 not $12.98 :)
$3.99x3=$11.97 not $21.97 :)

Hi Centurion,

It did take a little while... I'd say maybe 12-24 hours. I reg'd it one day and the info was there the next.

Just thought I would let you guys know, I just spoke to a representative and there is a 1 domain order per week limit.

cybernym, could you possibly post the domain management options? I am interested in knowing if I will be able to manage multiple domains at the same time like NameCheap..where they have the option of setting the same DNS for multiple domains just by selecting multiple domains..

Thanks.

pimpdaddy does Enom offer the ability to setup Nameservers for mulitiple names with just the click of a button? Ive been looking to find a registrar that offers that since its a great feature.

Also, a 1-Domain a week limit :o sort of reduces the gain of a $4 domain. Might as well pay the extra $3-$4 for a better registrar.

Well it does make sense if you only want to buy one domain :)

Darkfire, I'm not sure about eNom, it's been awhile since I have been a reseller of theirs but I use NameCheap now because I don't register as many domains anymore and they do, and they are resellers of eNom. I would suppose so..

OK. I spoke with Globat today... actually they emailed me and then called. Evidently, it's part of an aggressive marketing campaign. They wanted to put some pressure on me on the phone, but the first guy I talked to didn't really know his stuff.

On the plus side, they did say I could get the domain pushed over to another Enom account if I contacted their billing department (!).

--------------------
Pimpdaddy - You can see the management options in the screenshot. That's it - nothing more.

Darkfire - Enom does offer the ability to do mass edits - from scratch or using another domain as the example. It's definitely the best place I've found for managing a large number of domains.

Thank you cybernym, that screenshot was of alot of help, but I still did not see if I would be able to select multiple domains and change their DNS altogether, if you could just tell me if that option is available, that would be great :)

Thanks.

Hi pimpdaddy-

Just to be clear, the screenshot was not direct from Enom, but was from domainsarefree.com. Enom offers what you are looking for and a lot more. Just PM if you want me to set up an $8.95 account (retail or reseller) from them. (Almost anyone here could create one for you.)

Best wishes,

Cybernym, I am aware that the screenshot is from Globat rather then eNom's interface, I am also aware that a direct eNom account is able to manage multiple domains. I was wondering about your Globat account, can you adjust multiple domains' settings like eNom? (even though they are eNom's resellers, doesn't mean that they have that ability, was just wondering if that capability is available since i am interested in that feature)

DarkFire

RegisterFly offers "global" changes. Very easy to use.
It also allows you to "cntrl & click" to only apply changes to any number of names you want, excluding some if you want.
I manage about 450 names there & it is a lifesaver.

Hope this helps

Jim

Hi Pimpdaddy - Nope, Globat doesn't allow this and it's not the place you're looking for, despite the cheap prices!

maybe the only reason why there priced so low is cause they have a lot of people buying domains from them so they can afford to such as google doing there june domain sale

You mean Google is buying domains from them?

Nope, I think they are just priced low so they get all your registration info then blast you with a sales pitch for hosting.

no, i think he means when google has their june domain sale(?) they lower their prices?

Has anyone actually managed to get the domain transfered/pushed into their enom account yet? Sounds to me like it's going to be a long, hard job. Might as well pay the $8.88 fee for NameCheap, or if you have the right account 6.95/7.95 for Enom.

I'm not sure. I'd like to know how easy it is to push to an Enom account. If it's not that hard, though I suspect it'll be a struggle, I might give it a go on a domain I don't care so much about.

Believe it or not, but I called them and they didn't know themselves since the guy that performed the callback was from the Hosting division and he did not know much about it and they dont have demos or screenshots of their domain panel, but your screenshot was useful enough. Thanks :)
