Hi there,

This company have the cheapest domains that money can buy so i decided to give them a try.
Unfortunately at about 10 days ago, I've registered 2 domains from this company.
I say "unfortunately" because their service its so BAD that i cant even know how to start!

Well...Lets try:

At about 10 days ago, I've registered 2 Domains from domainsarefree.com.
The procedure is simple like from any other domain registrar...go to their homepage, check for the domain, the domain is available, register the domain and then receive an email regarding my purchase...
OK, until now everything its normal...(well.. almost)
The first domain was a .info (my first .info), the domain got registered but i never received the email confirming my purchase...So, the domain is registered in my name but i don't have any control over it!
I thought it was just a small problem and, next day I've decided to register another domain.
This time the domain was a .Com...
Same registration procedure but now the error was different.I've received the email regarding my purchase but domain never got registered!

What I've done? the obvious, contacted the support...Waited 5 days for this reply:

Dear Valued Customer,

I apologize for the delay. Each order has to be verified as valid before we can register the name. Unfortunately, domain registration has become plagued with fraudulent activity over the past two years and registrars have to take very careful steps to protect themselves from fraud.

The verification process has not yet completed for this domain.

Thank you for contacting our technical support. If you have any further questions, please reply to this email leaving all text intact, and be sure to give us a detailed description of how we can further assist you.

It have been passed 10 days since this situation and until now i didn't get any response from Domainsarefree.com or Globat...
I've contacted Globat but they always refused the support arguing that the domains was bought from Domainsarefree.com and not from Globat wich have a "different" support team.
Talking about Globat...Do you guys know that Domainsarefree.com its a division from Globat???Well.. now you know :)

The conclusion is that I've been charged for both domains which i don't have, and learned a lesson that cheap things always get very expensive!

That's my story,

Best Regards

I've had overall good experience using domainsite. And they charge less than
$7/year for .com. :D

However, it seems people are expecting a lot when about to use companies
that charge less than $6 for .com domain names. Can't really blame them, but
this still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Unless one really knows what s/he's doing, please, with cherry on top, don't
register a domain name with a company you're not familiar with just because
of the $ sign!

The only cheap domain I bought was from Yahoo. It is not bad except for the fact that you can't push to another account.

Domainsarefree.com sells them for $3.99 still right? My experience with them was great for the one name I ever had there. I registered pokerbets.net and had no problems.. the managing interface was kinda bad but it allowed everything. When I sold the name, I had to email customer support to release it but it transferred away without any problems too to the buyer. So... this was about 10 months ago.
