Four letter domain names have officially become the new liquid digital asset. These domains could be brought and quickly sold for liquidity. They are considered as good as cash. We have completed our analysis set of the 4 letter domain name sales for August 2016 to October 2016 from various auction houses. We have divided the domains into 3 different category which is 4 letter premium no vowel no v, 4 letter with vowel with v, and outliers that are over $1750 for the premium 4 letter no vowel no v and over $1000 for the 4 letter with vowel with v.
The 4 letter premium auctions were scarce in all the auction houses except for namejet. Namejet sold 290 of the 367 four letter premium domains during this period from the auction houses we have tracked. The average price of the domain sold is $1,376 for namejet and all the other websites have a similar average as well.
After collecting the set of data, we have concluded that the best place to buy a non premium 4 letter domain with vowel with v domain is at ebay with the average price of $268 a domain with 115 domains sold during this period. The best place to sell a non premium 4 letter domain with vowel with v is at namejet with an average price of $371 with 1842 domains sold. Sedo has the highest average selling price of $401, but only 23 domains sold during this period.
