Just got my first negative feedback on Ebay because some IDIOT doesn't know how to read. He bid and won TheShaved*****.com and then gave me a negative feedback because he thought it was a DVD. I mean how stupid can you be? No where in the auction does it even have the word DVD and it was listed in the domain name area. DUH

It happens all the time...people simply don't read the listings.I hope you defend yourself my responding to the feedback.

Yes but I didn't like doing it though it ruined his "perfect" score too.

I called him an @sshole in an email, that made me feel better! :yell:

Kerrijo - I know it sucks but that might have been the funniest post I have ever read. The unintnetional comedy was hilarious.

Did you transfer the name to the guy? I'd assume when you asked for his transfer information he knew it was not a DVD?

Just defend youself and move-on. It sucks but it has happened to all of us at one point.

Yes it is in his name! He must have thought he would get a download from Godaddy or something I don't know...he mentioned something about my scamming him and all the godaddy red tape in his email.

ps - sorry mods I should have XXX'd out the domain name as it is explicit

It says domain name 3 times in the listing! And the neg feedback says 'tried to sell me a website' where the listing says "Domain name only, website and hosting not included.". Classic. At least people can click through to the item for a few months and see that the guy was iliterate.

If this happened to me, I would have just downloaded something off of one of those file sharing sites (LimeWire or what-have-you), burn it to a DVD and posted him that. And then sold the domain again.

I believe you can complain to ebay and get the neg. feedback removed. I did once, I can't remember how I did it though :( I haven't used ebay in months now, I've run out of things to sell, besides parts of myself D-:

I think they only remove it if they call you names or something, that's the problem with Ebay.

Maybe he is already Nper and started thinking about domaining now.

You can contest the negative feedback. It's obviously the buyer's mistake, as you were very up front and clear. Ebay will see it as it is...and if they don't, you're no worse off. But do it soon. Shave on!

I once had a case where a person bought a domain and did not pay ... after 3 weeks and 3 unanswered invoices he sends me a neg with a feedback similar to the wording of "go to paypalwarning.com to see who are the real thieves" ... ??? , WTF ... I never accused him for anything and we didn't even have any kind of communication besides the 3 invoices I sent which where just please-pay-for-your-purchase messages (no accusations) ... I removed the feedback with the reasoning that it contained a link ... LOL

Kerrijo - this is the page for Feedback Abuse , Withdrawal and Removal

make sure you read the Additional Information

there is also a report link at the end

from the eligible-for-removal-cumstances explained in Additional Information , though , I think it is rather difficult for eBay to remove it ... you might as well check with them though ...

if eBay doesn't remove it , it might a good idea to contact the buyer and explain the situation again ... maybe you can agree on a Mutual Feedback Withdrawal (there is link in the same page above) ... that way , at least , the neg is removed from both your scores and you both return to 100% ... Strangely , he has 41 pos , 1 neg and 39 score ... ?!?!? ... hmmm ... I guess your neg counted as double  :'( ...

Thanks very much Godian, for your advice. I am just leaving it because I know they won't remove the feedback.

I just saw this post when I was linking on another thread. I haven't bothered paying my exorborant ebay fees so I am not a registered user right now...can't be arsed!

Kerrijo - I would suggest that you pay your fees and don't lose your account ...

First of all , I think you should pay for your fees since you DID receive the service you purchased ... wouldn't you hate it if you sold a domain and a person left an unexplained debt with you ? ... the fact that it is a big corporation does not change the issue much from an ethical point of view ... And the fact that many other people do it , doesn't make it right either ...

Secondly , you should not cut off such a huge market platform and selling outlet over a couple (or a couple of hundred) bucks ...

Maybe eBay is tough for domains right now ... but this could potentially change rapidly ... if , for example , it spreads around end-users or corporations that there is a big domain category on eBay (I think that many big businesses haven't even bothered yet to check on eBay for domains) ...

Also , as the domain industry matures , the quality of the domains offered could become better (or new categories could be established) and this could attract more buyers ...

As I remember you have a feedback of around 200 ... It doesn't worth it for a couple of hundred bucks to lose that (either from a buyer's or a seller's point of view) ...

Lastly , eBay could potentially charge your CC or any old CC (some companies have terms regarding charging older CCs on file for amounts owned) or even seek legal action ... so in the end you might end up paying , losing your account and possibly losing access to eBay (because they might keep a record of names , CCs or IPs) ...

Of course , it is up to you to decide what you want to do ...

Actually he probably has 41 pos but two of them are from one person. Ebay scores based on unique people so one person can't overly effect a user on multiple transactions.

Adop - I know that each member can affect eBay feedback score by only one point (positive or negative) ... plus when I said "41 pos" , I meant "members who left a positive: 41" not "positive feedback received" ...

... but there seems to be a glitch in this person's feedback and the score is lowered by 2 with only 1 neg (Kerrijo's) ... LOL

... even the percentage is correct 40/41 = 0.9756 ~ 97.6% but the score is 39 ... LOL

Kerrijo , don't drop the account ... it is a very ... "strong" account ... lol... it may have 99.5% on "defense" ... but it has double-hit on "attack" ...
