What's your take on this? Also reported by CNN. However, the link "iclerk.com" is redirected to another unrelated site (buyersguide.com).

I don't know the exact particulars of the story but have seen both sides of the fence enough to know that young girls do hang around older guys drinking, doing drugs, and having sex and then when they slpit up are only too happy to cause problems after the fact. (There's a 17 yr old girl down the block from me seeing and pregnant by a 35 yr old guy)

Don't get me wrong.. sex with a minor is still a crime but it's possible the Florida prosecutor saw more to the story than meets the eye.

Again, I'm not condoning underage sex but I do wonder why this girl was denied help by the authorities.

I think its hard to prosecute rape...you need concrete evidence and I dont think that's present in this case.

there was talk recently about lowering the legal age to 14 or 15 here from 16.
