1 & 1 unlocking account, need to pay?

Hi guys,

I am asking this on behalf of my friend. He has an account with 1 & 1. And when he wanted to reach control panel for his domain, he was asked to pay some contract bill of 20 USD or something.. Is this really their practice? Anyway he did and he said he still can not get in. Am, I have never seen anything like that, does someone have any expirence with them and this case scenario?

Look around for old threads about 1&!. They will all tell you to run, not walk to ANY other registrar.

Yeah, I have read that before. I am asking on behlaf of my friend, if someone has perhaps any similar expirence and did solve it?
