I personally would never register nor buy a domain like this. I know they have value but not in my eyes.
All I cal say is. If you paid 1K for it.. You paid too much..
If you're not going to develop it... You wasted your money..
You should have picked up a LLL.net or something..
Just my $.02
Best of luck!
Please be aware that this section is for appraisals for domain names, not for what you would personally pay for the name. Your personal preference in domain buying has no bearing on the value of a domain name, unless you happen to be the highest paying end user for a specific name. Since you seem to like LLL.net domains, i'd venture a guess that that's probably never the case.
If you're unable to provide an appraisal you really don't have any reason to be posting in this section - i'd stick to lurking.
emgage: I hadn't thought of that, another great idea. I'm sticking to developing the site for personal use, and the site will actually have no correlation to the name - just short and easy to remember. I also considered it could represent a site that deals with binary, or a sports loss record (lost 1 game, won 0) as an ironic sports type of site. Others have had great ideas too, it seems to be able to appeal to quite a large audience.
I listed it on Sedo the same day i posted this (even though i'm in the 60 day lockout, just to check out potential interest) and i've received 3 emails so far, one with an offer slightly double my purchase price (going out on a limb and guessing it wasn't from Larry Fling!). I'm going to have to pull it from the site for now since i can't quite sell it yet anyways, and a "compelling" offer to me would be closer to the 20k mark than the 3.5k mark.
clearskies: Thanks for the input - I too have never (personally) liked any type of numeric name before, but this one stands out to me for some reason.
briguy: My purchase price is listed above, it was several times that "backorder" price. It still seems i got a deal, especially considering in this case i am the end user.
evirtual1: I hate hyphenated names, exactly for that reason. This is the only exception i've ever made to my hyphen rule, even for reselling domains.
Thanks everybody for the input, i highly appreciate it. Excellent turnout on this topic!
