The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Social media and apps have not really replaced domains like many thought they would, especially for small businesses.

If anything there is more demand than ever for quality domains.

That's a very old document from 2009. Still we don't see the Internet moving in that direction. In fact we are seeing the opposite, a move away from social business pages and back to domains or at least combining the two. Especially now that law makers in Europe and the US are calling for the break up of big tech social media companies. As well as proliferation of fake or misleading information. Even if that was not the case, what would social media be without domains? The only company I saw trying to move to a non-domain navigation online is Google. They tried to remove the tld from the sld. But I don't see it going anywhere any time soon as it will lead to litany of anti competitive infractions and lawsuits.

Having said that, thanks for posting. There is some very interesting consensus on other points.

The document is mostly opinion and speculation. However there were some points that have a record of showing success. But those need to be superimposed on the 2020's. Sweeping statements rarely result in fact, especially if they are sensational.
