Hello. I have purchased several premium domain names for the .app extension like "Tips.app" and "Lowcarb.app" and listed them on Sedo.

However, I have sold "Lowcarb.app" some weeks ago and the buyer doesn't pay. Now I have cancelled the process on Sedo and they revealed me the buyers account address. Apparently it's some hair company in the US.

I'm living in Germany, so my question is, if there are any possiblities to sue this company or take any legal steps to get to my money? Because a "Purchase and Sales agreement" was created by buying this domain.

As with any dispute, you can take them to court. I'm not sure what the US threshold is for small claims court, but an EU judgement (i.e. if you go to court in Germany) is generally not enforceable in the US.

Second, if this is an LLC (or any type of limited liability company) then you need to be sure there is any money to collect.

In short, I wouldn't bother. It's generally not worth the hassle for €2,000 -- especially since you have to invest in a US lawyer which can easily run in the $100s of dollars per hour.

It wasn't a domain deal, but I have let an $8k "handshake" deal slide with someone in the US in the past on the sale of certain IP rights I own.

I had a 300K EUR unpaid sale on Sedo cancelled 2 weeks ago on one of my premium .APP domains, online sale and purchase agreement seems like a joke on websites like GoDaddy or Sedo.

I just wonder about that 300k .app name.

If I sued everyone who "bought" a domain from me but didn't pay, I would be living on Easy Street and wouldn't have to hang around here with you losers. :-P

I got one right now, negotiated a low price, very enthusiastic, but now is gone. In a few more days I will have the platform cancel the sale so I can put it back out there for the next con man to come along and "buy" it.

Why is this a reoccurring problem with selling .app names?

When you put it back on sale, do you put the price up? I've seen several posts from others that do that and it does have a satisfying ring to it! I got so annoyed with one waffler who dragged everything out with an accepted offer, that when they finally walked, I just doubled the BIN price. Sold it some months later to another person. I always hoped the original "buyer" would have got back to me so I could deliver the "You snooze, you lose" email!

Happens all the time, increase the BIN price and move on

Someone offer me $20,000 USD for cats.in last year but he never pay for it.:xf.frown:

"Hair Company in the US" has "SCAM" written all over it.

I haven't made many sales, but the handful that I have made have never reneged (smooth transactions)..
