The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I had the same thing happen as the guy above. It also took about 5 hours for the namecheap emails to arrive so I could approve transfer.

Also if your moving out of godaddy you should go to the domains/transfer section and click pending transfers out and approve the transfers as it may speed up the process.

I did one with Epik and one with Fasthosts. Epik was quick because I can approve it manually. FH will take 5 days :(

Friendly Reminder - make sure to use coupon for the max FIVE domains in cart at a time!
The coupon works for UP TO five domains each cart

Did anyone who was "shorted" the coupon use ask support to make it right? They did NOT state that you had to use the coupon that way anywhere and they are usually very good about things like this. During BFCM twice my custom coupons had issues and they had to manually fix it. If the savings are worth your time, it is my opinion it is worth a few minutes to ASK VERY NICELY if they can help make it right : smile :

Have received 24/25 emails, a handful were approved within 1-4 hours after the transfers were started, all others received within 6 hours which is reasonable
Domain is with another registrar. Awaiting release from previous registrar. *or* Domain is with another registrar. Awaiting email confirmation.

The one domain that is missing just said "Awaiting email confirmation." so clicked for it to be resent.

If, I had known this $3.98 deal was coming up I would have keep more of my domains rather than dropping or selling cheap. The only downside is it appears NC system is really slow today everything from 5 hours or so to get NC emails to now clicking accept and waiting for their system to notice that I approved email verification. I even expedited out of GD so little reason for NC to take so long.

Anyone, know what would happen if for the next batch I did less than 5 domains. Then managed to find others and wanted to do another batch. Does, that work or would the coupon no longer work?

Update - The single domain that was missing and requested email came through in minutes

There was no way to know about the sale, last year they never did MYDD so my guess this year would have been they weren't going to.

My confirmation took around 3.5 hours to arrive. Fortunately they were all at Uniregistry so was able to bulk approve them right way and they were in the new account in max one more hour

Another useful tip that I hope might help others:

NC includes 1 year of private email for each domain you transfer. If you do not need it, make sure you remove it from your cart before you check out.

I didn't remove the private email and they are now attached to my domains. In normal circumstances, this would not be a big deal, but they are set to auto-renew by default. However, to disable the auto-renew, you need to first activate private email for each domain by setting up the correct DNS records, wait for NC to see them, disable auto-renew, then remove the records. This extra bit of work would not have been required if I did not include private email with my orders.

Even though the NC approval emails took about 5 hours to arrive after that once I approve the transfer with NC and also GD it only took another hour or less. Overall, smooth just could have been a tad faster if there system had been quicker. However, this is a major discount and well worth the wait. I think I saved around $40 from what it would have cost with GD even being in the discount club! 4 of them were .com and one of them was .us.

Just now started another batch of 5 transfers to namecheap. Hoping the NC email doesn't take 5 hours to arrive this time.

NC Approval Email Came Within About 10 minutes this time, I consider that really fast. Now, just waiting for NC to process my approval.

Another weird thing happened for me here. Got the link to transfer and clicked to confirm. Seemed fine. Then just now got another for the same name but got an error this time. So I have no way of knowing if it's transferring or not and this particular name is expiring in a week.

I got duplicate transfer confirm emails also. In any case, 8 of mine seemed to go through fine so far. Had one error that I'll need to sort out.

Yet another wrinkle, one of mine was just auto-renewed at its current registrar. It's always something.

This is weird... I just checked the new expiration dates on my transferred names, and it is the same for all of them 3/6/19... So it looks like they didn't add the existing time I had on my domains to the registrations... Anybody else notice this? (In my case, it was only about an extra month, but still, something that should've been disclosed in promotion FAQ's IMHO... :shifty:)

Same here. Luckily mine were expiring anyway so I didn't lose many days.

Guess I'll find out in 5 days and possibly lose my name & money in the process :xf.laugh:

I didn't know that you could physically renew a domain for not 365 days LOL. I know GD has a 6-month thing.

But I didn't know registrars had the power to choose an arbitrary renewal period.

If that's the case, I'd love it if registrars would allow for like $0.20 renewals of 2 months or something, just so that you didn' thave to drop a domain when you couldn't renew.

So my domains don't do that lol. One of my domians expires in may, still expires in may, but now 2019! >_<

System must just be slow in updating... I contacted NC customer service and now my domains are showing the correct expiration dates with the proper credited time from the previous registrar... ;)

9 out of 10 transferred to NC without issue GD to NC. The 10th domain is at dynadot. I just can't find a way to expedite dynadot transfer-out. If you guys know of a way that would be nice to explain. Thanks.
