Crazy stuff i have xrbots.com

It's weird how a lot of the 60's/70's sci-fi predictions are finally coming true around the same time half-a-century later. For 20 years the only real sci-fi type advances seemed to be Facebook and the iPhone and now suddenly we have crazy robots (and even sexbots), holograms set to be everywhere (at least AR), and even real talk about colonizing Mars.

Just what I was mentioning a few pages ago about VR being used in RC robotics.
VRrobotics
But that article was nice and comprehensive.

BTW, I have used the rift DK1 shortly after release on UAV's.
Just had to de-skew the video. Screen effect annoying but the big picture was worth it.
It has been the norm for most cutting edge systems the past few years.
And will be the norm for consumer toys very soon.
My system has a heads up display that would make you think you were flying a jet fighter.
Very cool but all that HUD has needed data that makes flying long and tricky a breeze.

Also...
I had mentioned last week that I was watching for major VR advertising to start this week and I was seeing it introduce itself as I was watching sports on Sat & Sun. But this weekend should surpass that by 2X.
Just a needed milestone we have passed as this comes to be.
But I am wondering if anyone noticed WMR / Rift / Vive advertising online.
That I have not noticed since I block most of it and others stuff I have had myself trained to ignore.

I am getting a lot of VR adverts show on websites but that is because I was searching on Amazon for headsets the other day. I am also seeing lots of ads for running shoes as I searched for them as well last week. So I really don't know. All the ads I've seen appear to be of that 'tracking' type.

At least search interest in key phrases such as 'best vr headset' seem to be finally going up, although still way down on this time last year : https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=best vr headset

Yes, they seem to be the big early bird on ads, but I really think these next 2 weeks will be a milestone.
(or a kilometerstone for those not in the US LOL )

Back on the topic of Apple's acquisition, I have been looking at the exact reason for the buy-out.
Many times, they do it for patents and other times they want the talent withing and yet others may have production facilities or assets that are helpful.
I am digging to find the assets they were looking at. It may give us some insight to the form of future products. But the case is strong for the display tech.
