Just discovered that new .com registrations at FastHosts are around a dollar.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It doesn't let you add to cart, you have to purchase one at a time but stay logged in.

Under the registration box, if you click "advance search" in the lower right hand corner of that page is a bulk registration box. You can reg up to 50 at a time.

I read that, too, but there was no particulars. So far I have had no problems.

If you don't mind my asking, do you have a lot of names regged there, and

have you had any problems pushing sold names, or

having sold names transferred out?

Hey Guys, is that discount on transfer-in also applied?

I don't think so.

I think it is only on new dot com regs

I have registered almost 500 names there in the past 3 months. I have had no problems pushing to another account, nor recieving a push..I have not had opportunity to transfer to another registrar, so I cannot speak to that.

Are you in the UK?

I only ask because it seems people outside of the UK seem to have the most trouble, myself included.

No. I am in the US (FLorida)

I just regged 5 more with no problems

I have hesitated using all but the most reputable registrars until now.

The deals are irresistible for sure.

However I am leery of regging more than a few names with some of these low cost registrars.

Someone else here at NP said this registrar closed their account and they lost their domains.

I do not know the details, but trying to setup an account and reg my first domain was not easy.

Having so many domains regged at this registrar are concerned at all?

Not really. I is only about 15% of my portfolio. I have already sold 1 name that more than covers my registration costs to them. It was a name that I probably would not have registered at the $8.47 I would have paid at GoDaddy.

Risk/Reward is good at the exchange rate of about $1.28 per name. I am a flipper looking for inventory turns, as opposed to a holder trying to squeeze every dime out of a name. The low cost registration gives me a better shot of winning.

I can register 5 names as opposed to only 1 name for the same money. It is low risk because 1 sale protects your investment.

If your strategy is buy and hold, I would agree to stick with the major registrars.

just tried to forward a name there and it took me to a check out page.

It said there was no charge, but I had to check out anyway.

So I did.

I stopped me and would not process because I had just made another DNS change a little earlier.

Never had such a hard time getting an account or making changes at a registrar before.

try facebook or twitter. I got reply from both in minutes

I try both facebook and twitter. However, just receive a message:

"I am unable to comment on orders over social media unfortunately, if you have any questions about your order, feel free to call 0808 1686 777"

sorry to hear that. I made order, waited 40 mins, then message them. All they said was order has been processed. Once account is set up, it seems ok.
Did you get a Fasthosts Domain Account Application email?
What I did was follow link in above post somewhere and opened account without domain name.
Then I get email wanting id. I sent one piece and it was approved in minutes

Hi,

I didn't receive any email from Fasthosts.

I registered yesterday (~ 16 hours ago)

I asked the support from Fasthosts (~13 hours ago). He confirmed my email was placed for the order and requested I wait.

:(

What number do you call if you're from the US? I've tried the numbers on the Web site, but none of them will go through.

Me too :(
