Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have just TDNX (The Domain Name Exchange) and ADBX (A-Database Expert) and OLRX now. The last one is however more RX domain. E.g. OLRX = Online Prescriptions.
Actually X is very good letter that usually stand for words starting with EX (exchange, excel, expert, exclusive etc.) and words ending with X like Index

I personally had 3 end user LLLX sales :)
lxrх, mksх and ehrх

I also have several nice XLLL.com domains

хspo,хcsl,хaif, xbta, xubl, xrgs,хemb, xubr,хocd, xrbm. Some of them are pronounceable.
I had only one XLLL.com end user sale.

I agree .... and suggest letters like "i, x, q, v and z" can easily carry value and not always be "bad" letters. However in the LLLL.com niche the options narrow.

I would assume with over 2900 LLLL.com sales you could offer a pretty insightful opinion on how well or poorly so called "bad" letters performed in your portfolio. Pardon my assumption you had any domains, with so called bad letters, in your portfolio ....:guilty:

PS
Congrats on the 15K .... :kickass:

Rale.com at NJ $3633

thanks Nem0

voce.com 4.105 - NameJet - Sept, 30th, 2012
miau.com 2.200 - NameJet - Sept, 18th, 2012

In my opinion miau better than voce... very strange only 31 bidders for voce and 130 for miau and first higher price.

voce means "you" in portuguese (actually it is written "você"). it is a CVCV and it only got 31 bidders because NetworkSolutions screws around with domains, holding them back and releasing them without any warning.

tonecas

I've been thinking recently that if I bought a LLLL.com domain name now for $30 and sold it for $1000 in 20 years time then I would be getting an average return on investment for the domain name (factoring in renewal fees) of around 14% per year. I believe that 14% per year is a very good return on investment and that there are some pretty good LLLL.com you can get for $30 now that have a good chance of being worth $1000 in 20 years time.

I don't think that buying LLLL.com with a <3 year time frame is the best investment at the moment as the market is so vunerable to fluctuations in mood swings related to investment but I expect the next wave of LLLL.com investment to push the values of a lot of LLLL.com significantly higher.

I think that there is a lot of anxiety in the domain name market about what is going to be the effect of the new extensions. A lot of people expect .com to retain it's dominance but some expect a new wave of domainers to use these new extensions and take away .com's popularity. I don't know what to think. However I do think that there is a high chance that .com will retain it's popularity and LLLL.com to become a lot more secure investment over time.

I'm starting to look to help investors buy LLLL.com with a long term time frame as I am starting to expect that LLLL.com to be a safer investment than a lot of shares. I think other types of .com investments have that potential as well but to me LLLL.com represents a niche of .com investors that are more predictable than other investors and that provides better liquidity than other .coms.

I'm not expecting all LLLL.com to be capable of giving an average of 14% ROI but I am expecting some LLLL.com to be capable of that and so I'm getting quite optimistic about these domains now.

Have you considered inflation and price purchasing power?

Not expecting inflation to be a problem. I have a lot of faith in the US dollar and the Australian dollar (where I live) maintaining value. That said, I'm not investing a lot at the moment.

So, whatever we may think about the future, it is clear, at least for me, that LLLL.com are dropping, most of them caught by namejet and snapnames and resold buy a minimun profit... for them is being a sure business, that is clear... some names get auctioned and hit the x.xxx

Even LLN.com are dropping and being caught as well but the price just get to medium xxx

The thing is we are living uncertainty about new gtlds and how it may influence .com long lasting first position... it is about bets and mine is that .com will get stronger for a time but eventually will be like out of fashion and even a sign of "old stuff", new names will rock, it´s clear that best.apps or barcelona.hotels and thinks like that will become the usual stuff within years...

We wish won´t be like that but we must admit that the path is been opened... still I believe domain hacks will be there for a while like no_url_shorteners, etc...

Anyway we will try to be around to see and comment....

It is strange, the air of worry descending on the domain market regarding the new gTLDs.

All the good new extensions except Geos will probably go to Amazon (who will keep them for internal use) and Google (who will give them away and include advertising, so it is rumored). A business that is capable of buying a $$$, $$$$ or $$$$$ domain does not want a "free" domain containing Google ads.

As far as I can see, the best TLDs left after Google and Amazon get theirs are some cities and .Art, .Hotel, .Eco, .Design, .LTD, .Law, .Sport - these are very limited markets. The city TLDs will take business from the Country Codes mostly, the others will take a small fraction from .Com. Indeed, all new extensions risk being lumped into the "free" category in people's minds even if they are not, that is if Google advertises a lot.

Then a few extensions go bankrupt - those who have bought into them, including those who build fancy websites, are completely scr3wed as the rules now stand. Note that Donuts formed a new corporation for each of its' 300 applications. A few horror stories in the press and the public will lose whatever confidence they have. This actually could make .Com stronger, at the expense of .Net, .Info and etc.

It also should be mentioned that further releases of TLDs will only be of terms left out until now - meaning they serve even smaller markets.

A real danger to .Com is if they start selling extensions for a couple thousand dollars or so. Don't look for that any time soon - if ever - and once they expand that far, there is nowhere else to go.

Maybe there will be some new tech that avoids domains altogether (none on the horizon) Maybe the world economy will collapse. These are the dangers I worry about.

hi friends,

I like LLLL ending/starting with X as that letter is very brandable IMO. For AerX, go find end-users through Aer name holders too.

LIAO.com

I had to read it twice to check the price. That's one awesome deal if it closes successfully.
