As a foreigner I've always been interested in American politics because it affects the rest of the world. I've always looked up to American's strong belief in freedom but in the last 10-15 years I notice that the American Mainstream Media (MSM) have taken control of the majority of the population's minds and have decided who should win the candidacy both for the Democrats and Republicans.

And this brainwashing seems to get worse all the time. Three years ago the MSM decided that Obama should be the winner and so they where very biased against Hilary Clinton. Result; The media and Obama won.

Now with the Republican nomination the Media is even worse as they seem to have already chosen Mitt Romney to win. What really amazes me is how the Media has totally ignored Ron Paul who appears to be the 2nd most popular candidate, despite the fact that he is being ignored. Just imagine if they (MSM) were to talk about him; He'd probably be the front runner.

Could this (ignoring Ron Paul) be due to to the fact that the MSM is controlled by Jews and they don't like the fact that Ron Paul has said the he would stop Foreign aid to Israel and the rest of the world. Or are they afraid that Ron Paul has the the best chance of beating Obama, therefore by choosing Romney, Obama will obviously have a better chance to win.

What amazes me is that the media is not even being discreet about ignoring RP. Whatever happened to the unbiased American media that the world so much admired? D-:

Actually, I would LIKE to see the U.S. develop a moon base. I would also like to see an interstellar ship built before I die, too.

To live long enough to see the human race expand into space would be an awesome gift.

Back to reality, though, our country is more interested in paying the water bill right now.

I cannot believe we landed on the moon 40 years ago and this is as far as we've gotten since then.

Please don't take my statement as any age discrimination .. But as at least one other has pointed out - It is a factor. My own dad is now 91 and still works 6 days a week (Mechanic/Farming type Manual Labor no less) , So I do know what they are capable of. When it comes to mechanical type stuff he is still sharp as a tack - But his memory on other things does have lapses. Obviously RP isn't that age yet , but he is getting up there. I have friends that will not hesitate to "write in" his name more than likely if given the chance no matter what ...
Personally I'll probably vote for the person most likely to try and remove the permanent (health) insurance bailout coming soon.

The USA found out there wasnt any gold up there and didnt need to go back lol

The Concorde supersonic jet and the Space Shuttle get shut down with no plans to replace them, We are going backwards!

I like the mars robots type of missions.

RP is even ignored in his own thread lol

 Poor Old Ronny. At least his name was mentioned 3 times last night on CNN by Anderson Cooper & Co. I get the feeling that the less votes he gets the more they talk about him.

I'll bet China will put a man on the moon before the US. Probably to open a store to sell their cheap products.

See, if there were only some small set of aliens on the moon trying to decide if they were going to be socialist or democratic, we would spend tens of trillions of dollars establishing an embassy and playing one side off against the other until they all bought weapons from us.

Seriously, Aliens are so uncooperative these days.

Ron Paul.

There, I mentioned his name in a post.

Romney: 'I'm not concerned about the very poor'

AP WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Wednesday that he's "not concerned about the very poor" because they have an "ample safety net" and he's focused instead on relieving the suffering of middle-class people

I guess there more votes in the middle class than skid row

AMPLESAFETY.NET is available.

Mitt Romney stuck his big mitten in his mouth this morning in an interview with CNN where he actually said the words “I’m not concerned about the very poor.” Now the full context of his quote is this:

“I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs a repair , I’ll fix it. I’m not concerned about the very rich…. I’m concerned about the very heart of America, the 90-95 percent of Americans who right now are struggling.”

He probably put in words what everyone in congress thinks or believes in...hahahhahaha

Face it, to politicians, the poor are nothing but a class of people whose votes they need and want.

Further on, do you really think the rich think that much if at all about poor people?

i second that, i haven't payed my water bill in 3 months!!

There is nothing wrong with big/bold ideas and it certainly helps to stay on top BUT the references to the 60tes are just out of plain sight, in that area of time we didn't have a 16 trillion problem in our budget...:(

cheers

What I find amazing is the fact that the single most powerful nation in the world has not had a budget for 3 years. :bingo: Until our government figures out what a budget is, we'll never have money left over for the fun stuff.

Democracy is like two wolves and one lamb deciding on what they will have for supper - Benjamin Franklin

Wolves = Republicans and Democrats
Lamb = Guess who?

Yesterday I saw a story about Trump was going to back Newt in a press conference today. Which of course is weird considering Mitt is now the clear favorite. Turns out hes endorsing Mitt. Dewey wins lives on in the internet age. lol Actually its still speculation who Trump will endosre

Wednesday night, reports were leaking out of Newt Gingrich‘s campaign that Mr. Trump was throwing his support behind Mr. Gingrich, and as late as Thursday morning, several news organizations, including Fox News, were still reporting that Mr. Gingrich was in line for Mr. Trump’s endorsement.

The Romney campaign did not release their public schedule until Thursday morning — a rarity for them — and even then their 12:30 p.m. slot (the time at which Mr. Trump is set to endorse) stood vague, offering only: “Romney for President Event. TBD Location. Las Vegas, Nevada.” Mr. Romney will appear with Mr. Trump at his Trump International Hotel & Tower here.

I have no qualms with Gingrich suggesting we get back in the Space Race.. better moon rocks than more dead soldiers.. I'd rather replace a war economy with new tech jobs.

Ron Paul's only hope is getting enough delegates to bargain with at the Convention. Skipping Florida was a bold move, let's hope, in retrospect, it wasn't a stupid one.

I was under the impression that Trump didn't like Romney, :o but then again, in politics, what's true today is a lie tomorrow.

Trump is going to back whoever gives him the best shot at the lowest taxes, aka whoever the front runner is on the Republicans. And he was never a serious contender for President and wouldn't make a good President. He just likes the publicity and doesn't have the temperament for the job.

"Ron Paul's only hope is getting enough delegates to bargain with at the Convention."

He's never had any hope, this has been done for awhile. Romney v. Obama. Has Ron Paul, in all the times he's run, even won 1 state? Has he ever beat another Republican candidate in a primary?

With 46 states still to go, you never know. Depends on the MSM, but since they want to see a Romney vs Obama, I suppose you're right.

This would be the perfect scenario for Obama to win again.

We know. It never goes thru all the states, not even close. Just a few until a pretty clear picture emerges, then people drop out and fall in line. I felt is was going to be Romney for awhile. It wasn't going to be Cain, once people started digging. Rick Perry reminded me of Josh Brolin playing George Bush in W., they look the same as well - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1175491/, wasn't going to be him. Bachmann - crazy. Santorum, nah. Newt, 3rd marriage, ethics violations, temper, not going to happen.

Cain and Perry were just too dumb. D-: Cain not knowing anything about Libia or UbekiBekiBekiBekistan and Perry forgetting his own plan etc. was just too embarrassing to be true; had to see it to believe it. Never understood how they ever got to get such high ratings. There was one guy who I thought was quite interesting but never got a chance to really show himself; Huntsman. I would have picked him for the final four to hear more of his ideas.
