If you have been into the industry for some time, you may have sold multiple domain names to the same buyer.
While that goes on to show that maintaining your end of the bargain and proper communication and network with the buyer is a must, one of the important lessons I learnt was being proactive.
I happened to buy some 50 casino names in the past. All were geo domain names with casino niche.
Back then, I was trying to outbound a different name and during a follow up mail, the buyer asked if I has any casino names.
It was 10 days into the buy and I sent him the list of first 10 names.
The names had a price tag of around $500 each with a bulk buy price of around $2,500. If he took all the 10 names, $2,500 was the price.
The aim was to make him purchase all the 10 names.
After some back and forth negotiation, the buyer agreed to buy all 10 names at $2,250.
A week after the deal was done and names pushed, I sent a list of another 20 names for him to choose from.
All 20 were at $2,500.
Single names at $200.
10 names at $150 each.
We had a deal of again. Since it was cheaper for him, he went ahead with the first one.
Within a month, he came back to ask if there were more names with me.
I sent the list of rest 20 names and he took like 8 or 9 of them.
This time, I think I sold each one for a $200 and ended up making like $6,000 - $7,000
While it may not be a major sale, selling like 40 odd names was a personal victory for me. I think being proactive is a plus in this industry considering the fact that you don't spam.
P.S. The numbers shared are based on memory and may differ a bit!
The deals were done in bulk and that is the main take away from this thread.
