We need this one too guys :)

This guide will also help LLLL.com holders to understand more the value of their 4 letters .com based on how expensive the similar 3 letters .com are.

From:

http://3character.com/priceguide.html

Pricing Guide for 3-Letter (Composed Of Letters Only) Domains:

Current Observed Minimum Wholesale Price (regardless of letter combo) as of February 1, 2008:

3-Letter .com - $6700 (+ $300 since January 1, 2008 report)

But I consider their guide a bit old since they are not taking in consideration the emergenging countries that appreciate other letters and as we have run a poll here several times lately, the majority of people consider the letters U
and W to be Premium letters.

Let`s have a look at some recent LLL.com sales as reported from NameBio.com :

It was the worst of times - it was the best of times.

Good points all around. Sure do wish I'd gotten into domaining when I'd first given it any thought at all, back in the mid-'90s! :(

The best time to start anything is in hindsight, the next best time is now :) Today's drops we watched a LOT of LLLL.com s drop :( and immediately regged ... the economy can be hard on domainers who have not monetized.

BUT - for those with drop catcher extraordinaire software - it is a feeding frenzy.

A lot of lll.com's are coming up in the sedo pipe, so let's wait and see, but so far so good (just as with premium llll.com's):

That is a lot of them! And they all end at the same time. It should be interesting to see how this pans out.

The market isn't really going anywhere and there is nothing to say. As I said in June I think the market has likely bottomed and I've been repeating that about the market generally lately. My gut feeling is that the great crash of 2008/2009 is largely over aside from low quality names with reg fee issues.

Still high risk though. I wouldn't buy LLL.com's at current levels personally, would invest the money elsewhere.

Hi guys.

I'm confused by the apparently huge sums being achieved for LLL.COM on GoDaddy auctions. A quick look (https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpHome.aspx?t=3 and click on the 'bids' column) shows a few domains up at $25,000-$50,000.

Are these auctions for real??? Sorry for being such a noob.

thanks

Those are asking prices from the seller. The bids will be in the majority of the cases bellow the asking price.

Nonetheless, GoDaddy doesn't stop of stunning me with so many big sales (in current market conditions) in various domain segments, specialy short domains like CVCVs or LLLs.

tonecas

TQB.com was my old domain.

There are a few obvious potential end users, its priced about right for a trader. The difficulty of getting into this sector is that only about 10 LLL.coms hit the block every month across all the platforms. Prices have stabilised and it will only take a few people to enter this sector to have a positive effect on prices. I think prices did hit bottom a couple of months ago, you probably will not get these names any cheaper than now but its hard to predict the yearly rises of wholesale prices. Can be that the prices hold for a long time but limited supply will have a positive effect at some time. This is the biggest difference with LLLL.coms which have 100s available per month.
Good luck are you from leeds UK

Thanks for letting me know about this auction. :)

Edit: NVM. Private registration. I'm usually not bidding on domains with private reg (very often there's a reason for it). I'm not saying there's something fishy about this name though, I just don't like private registration (and I see no reason for using it unless you have something to hide).

Yeah, I didn't think that one through, did I? D'oh.

I just don't like private registration (and I see no reason for using it unless you have something to hide)

I use private reg for my domains too, solely because I don't want my main email address exposed and spammed to death... it has been clean for over 10 years due to cautious distribution, and private registration gives me that...

No-spam-Dave :)
