An inquiry is a message a buyer sends from one of your landers, often with an offer. Every inquiry is kept on Inquiries , and is emailed to your parking email unless one of your settings below holds it back. You reply by email, straight from your inbox.
How inquiries reach you
- A buyer fills in the form on your lander.
- We ask the buyer to confirm their email address, to filter out typing mistakes and fake addresses.
- Once they confirm, we email the inquiry to your parking email. Its subject is the domain and a reference (e.g.,
makeinquiry.com [ID: …]). - Reply to that email to answer the buyer. Your reply goes straight to them.
Some inquiries are kept on the site but not emailed: one whose buyer has not confirmed their email yet, an offer below your minimum (or no offer, when you set a minimum), or a buyer who has not finished your qualification questions. These settings decide which of them you also get by email:
- Notify me about inquiries before email confirmation
- Notify me about inquiries below my minimum offer
- Notify me about inquiries before interest qualification
- Notify me about inquiries before BANT qualification
Your inquiry list
Inquiries lists the newest first. Each row shows the buyer, the domain, their offer, when they wrote, and the start of their message. A blue dot marks an inquiry you have not opened yet.
- "Inquiry delivery" chooses between "All", "Delivered" (emailed to you), and "Unsent" (never emailed).
- "Order by" sorts by "Newest first" or "Highest offer".
- The star button stars an inquiry; the envelope button emails it to your parking email.
Filters
Select "Filters" to narrow the list:
| Filter | Choices |
|---|---|
| Email status | "Confirmed email address" is the default, so inquiries from buyers who never confirmed are hidden until you choose "All email statuses" or "Unconfirmed email address". |
| Spam risk | "Any", "Hide high", or one level: "Low", "Medium", or "High". |
| Show | "Active" (the default), "Archived", "Removed", or "All". |
| Only | "Unread", "Starred", or both. |
"Inquiry delivery", "Order by", and your choice of email status and spam risk can each be saved as your default, so every inquiry list opens with them.
An inquiry's page
Open an inquiry to see everything we know about it. Opening it marks it as read.
- Inquirer history: how many other inquiries on NamePros came from the same email address or IP address, across every seller. A match does not prove it is the same person, and you can open only the ones sent to you.
- Inquiry details: the buyer's name, email, phone number and where it is from, organization, offer, the reason they wrote, and their message. A note under the email says whether it is a free email account, a temporary address, or their own domain.
- Spam risk, and their answers to your qualification questions, if you ask any.
- Local time and weather: the time and weather where they appear to be, when they wrote and now.
Sort your inquiries
Use these on an inquiry's page, on the card that opens when you hover over an inquiry, or on many inquiries at once by selecting them in the list (the guide to acting on many inquiries at once shows how):
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Star | Marks the inquiries you want to answer first. "Only: Starred" lists them. |
| Mark as unread | Brings back the blue dot, so you remember to come back to it. |
| Archive | Moves an inquiry you are done with out of your list. It stays in your downloads and under "Show: Archived". |
| Remove | Hides an inquiry from your lists and downloads. It is not deleted: find it under "Show: Removed" and select "Restore". |
| Send to email | Emails the inquiry to your parking email, so you can reply to it. |
| Ask for a reply | For a buyer who did not answer you: we email them from a NamePros address, copying you, and ask them to email you and add your address to their contacts. You can ask once per inquiry, only 24 hours after the buyer confirmed their email, and not if the buyer has unsubscribed from our emails. |
Ignore a sender
On an inquiry's page, select "Add to ignore list" beside the buyer's email or IP address. Inquiries from that sender are hidden from your lists and are not emailed to you. Ignored senders lists them; remove a sender there and their inquiries come back.
Download your inquiries
On Inquiries , select "Export", then "Download CSV" when it is ready. The file holds your inquiries for the email status and delivery you chose, whatever the other filters say, with the buyer's details and message. Archived inquiries are included; removed inquiries and inquiries from ignored senders are left out.
