I am just so stupidly excited!

I put 34 sites on Bodis last night. It's been about 24 hours, and I have made $1.13. This may not be much to write home about, but its $1.13 more than my other sites have made sitting on market places.

I just really needed to tell SOMEONE!!

Well, the parking also is not without risk. You have to monitor what is showing up on them---which I didn't for however many years the ads were going on. Quite frankly, I wasn't even aware for some time that ads were being placed on the domains, since I never had signed up for the parking service. Then, after becoming aware of what was going on, I saw that "fake doctor notes" was being advertised on various ones. That's when I put a stop to everything.

It's bad enough to not get paid. It's even worse to have ads like that showing up. And, it turned out, that two ".coms" had become adult ads only also during this time--a female doctor and nurse. And sadly, one of them I had held on in memory of a dear nurse who had passed away at a young age. Needless to say, I have no involvement with that ad platform.
So, watch your ads!
thanks, good advice!

An Ad parking service hopefully adds to the value of the domain by increasing traffic. What you don't want is having it devalue your domain, but providing tangential adult listings or even unwanted traffic that causes it to be faillisted. Bodis appears to do a good job, having added protections such as allowing the customized terms to avoid some of those pitfalls.

Don't forget the renewal costs. 139 domains, if they are .com domains, you need to pay about 1390 USD yearly. So you need to sell a few of them (or at least 1 domain) to make it profitable. And I haven't even talked about the acquisition cost of these 139 domains.

Revenue is not the same as profit. Tell us the profit, not the revenue.
I fully understand the difference between revenue and profit. "Sales are vanity, profit is sanity".

There is no profit and parking will never provide me enough revenue to create profit.

It is just an interesting exercise, and great they are making a few cents rather than just sitting there doing nothing.

Congrats! Perhaps, when the keyword maximization kicks in by the end of the year, you'll really see some even better income. Every little bit helps, no doubt.

Hi

parking services do not increase traffic for a domain,
they only tabulate the actions taken by the visitor, according to the categories monitored.

however, any revenue earned and or visitor statistics, can add value to the domain.

imo...

Well, when my portfolio at Dan was switched to the Dan/Bodis integration, there appeared to be a significant uptick in traffic to the domains in general. For a brief period of time, I removed the domains from Bodis, and again the traffic went significantly down. So, when I returned them with Bodis, with the for-sale lander to Dan, the stats went up.
Perhaps it was all bots, because it did not result in offers or sales. But the amount of traffic to the domains at Dan really appeared to have significantly increased every time I used Bodis.

Hi

if,
you had an uptick, then a downtick, then another uptick...
then what is measurable difference and variable?

we know the variables are the different platforms, one is a ppc the other is a marketplace.

if your names are listed on marketplaces where people search for domains, then the uptick may be due to any additional searches done from that marketplace.

now if the terms, keywords of your name should rise in popularity, demand etc., then one could see an increase in traffic, but it wouldn't be due to the parking service.

imo...

Well, I don't know what exactly was happening. Whether using the Dan integration with Bodis, or subsequently Bodis alone or combined with Sales landers pointing to DAN, traffic seemed to go up for the Dan views.

Mind you, since it wasn't translating to offers or sales, the traffic may have been more bots than anything else.

****UPDATE***
I thought some people may appreciate an update (or maybe not, lol), but here it is anyway.

Current earnings

July 13th-31st - $2.22
August - $1.59
September - $3.36
October - $4.10

I have 141 domains (added 2 since last month, I have REALLY curbed my domain buying!!) 4 are G Faillisted. Only 21 of them made any revenue (that was 17 last month).

ROOKIE MISTAKE!!

I just realised I made a stupid rookie mistake....

I originally used Bodis NS.
I then changed my mind and I didnt want to use the bodis NS because I wanted to use my registrars NS so that I could use a catch all email. I therefore went the CNAME method.

I have just realised that some of my domains are not even pointing to bodis, and thats why some of my domains are not getting any views. Ahhhh, i'm such an idiot. At least I can sort the domain list by the domains that have gotten 0 views, so that should be simple enough.

Simple mistake. You learned an important lesson. Anytime you are not seeing any traffic to a domain, check the domain settings at the registrar. Been there, done that.....

Don't make too much. If you start making a few bucks a day they will most likely suspend you or shut you down. If they think you are cheating, you will be shut down and thats it.
Don't make too much?! How are we in control of that if we park the domains? Who is it that will "suspend or shut you down?"

Isn't the entire point of parking the win/win of traffic that clicks on an ad?

We must be related.

I am a rookie also. "I know all about..." pointing DNS for hosting but there I was last week listing domains to park wondering why oh why* nothing was happening. I called Afternic (I couldn't figure out the interface; it was driving me mad). The nice Rep, who had been there only a few months, let me know I had to change my DNS Nameservers. *oh boy* 🤦‍♀️

FWIW, I have listed some with Afternic and some with Sedo. I am researching Bodis as well.

The comment may have been simple sarcasm. If there is an unusual spike in clicks and earnings, there is a possibility the parking company will scrutinize that. Being "suspended or shut down" appears to happen rarely. If it does happen, that can be appealed.

Oh, haha, yeah, it happens. Glad I’m not the only one!!

Oh okay. Thank you! Often challenging to detect sarcasm online when new to a community and domain parking.

Congratulations.

Had a bad experience with with Bodis recently. Was not getting much income for years with a balance of about $7 in my account.

About Last month I added more domain and one started generating income like yours.

Then suddenly I was unable to log into my Bodis account. I wrote their support and was told that my account was blocked with the funds in the account that managed to reach $10 after several years seized because of the traffic to the particular domain.

I didn't do anything whatever to influence traffic to the domain and ended up being denied access to the funds in my account. Just imagine if the money was higher than that.

Spike in traffic -> ban. Happens with most parking companies.

Got banned at Sedo like that.

Fortunately, not interested in parking today. Ad-based revenue is a bi_ch, sometimes you get banned with a successful portfolio for no reason whatsoever, and then your business is toast.

Been there in the past when Google banned our sites.

One wonders why there are more reports showing up about ad-parking accounts being closed.
Bodis itself was working on a maximizer tool. Hopefully, there aren't any glitches associated with it contributing to the issue.
Otherwise, if there was no dispute involving the previous amount, certainly it would be nice for an account residual to be paid off regardless.

No dispute whatever.

They didn't even send any mail to notify me about any issue about traffic to the domain. They just blocked my account, it was when I complained about inability to access my account that there support checked and informed me that the account was blocked.

Wouldn't prompt email notification of the account holder make sense?

1) If the account holder was doing something untoward, then prompt notification that the suspicious activity has been caught might stop the behavior and put them on alert that they shouldn't do that.
2) If the account holder isn't the culprit, this gives the ad-parking company due notice to further investigate promptly, to see if there is some unusual "bot" activity or even some issue with their own software or servers.

The ad-parking company certainly have their own right to decide their own policies and procedures. Nonetheless, the prompt email notification of accounts being closed might help them. There may be instances unrelated to the account holder, where larger, more nefarious trends, might appear. Detecting that activity early on might help their business as a whole, in the long run.
