The US would be a far better place if it only allowed Republicans to hold elected office. Why? Because the media and many of the people only care about war, injustice, malfeasance and corruption when a Republican is involved. At least we would have some accountability. With all the Democrats in office, the government is about as accountable as China's (but without the competence).

Need we be reminded who got America involved in the two recent wars in the first place? Republicans favour less government which would typically reduce spending, but as to the question of accountability, that depends on the individuals and their policies ie. tax returns.

Basically, every president except Trump. Why do you ask?

I see little to no interest in the accountability of Democrats from the press. Or from their supporters. On the other hand, they spent 4 years and countless millions, with the politically motivated assistance of the CIA and FBI, fishing wildly for Trump corruption. And now the big news is some obscure congressman's sex scandal? Really? That's the most pressing case of corruption they can find?

In the conventional sense maybe, but he's a businessman, he knows which side of his bread is buttered. He started his own campaign against the environment.

45 stacked the deck with odds in his favour. We all have our lenses and filters to the world and the events that transpired, whether you agree or not. There are numerous legal cases cited, this is but the political flavour of the week...it'll all come out in the wash. :xf.wink:

45 stacked the deck with odds in his favour.

I don't believe that for a second. He went through his 4 years with the bulk of Washington, the media, the CIA/FBI teamed against him in a way never before seen in a free country. They even hated on his wife, a poly-lingual fashionable woman from Europe who would have been idolized had she married a democrat. The only possible claim to stacking the deck is the judges he appointed - and we have already seen how little that helped him.

In fact, if Trump had been a Democrat, the same people who slam him here would probably be treating him like they treat old crooked warmonger Joe.

Which brings us back to the point. Who is President?

Because if I just landed from outer space and was reading these comments, I would think Trump is president the way people go on about him. The guy who actually is president is busy destroying the country while you all throw rocks at the bogeyman Trump.

We all have our lenses and filters to the world and the events that transpired, whether you agree or not.

Sure. But it's easy to coast along when your filtered view of the world is supported by a daily barrage of media propaganda and spy agency misinformation backed by the elite who pull all our strings. That's the easy view. Just get up and say "F:ck Trump" to get an audience on your side. The default view is reinforced daily: Orange man bad. Biden nice guy. Ignore the old guy destroying the currency, destroying society and trying his best to start World War 3. Think about the former president's tax returns instead. They are more important.

I know the environment is your issue. A nice war will hasten its demise.

Like I said before, I couldn't care less what party he's was in...besides he's not really Republican IMO. Nor was it the media, but from what I heard directly from the horses mouth that changed my mind after 3 years of his BS. He was surrounded by goons, followed by fanatical supporters, he had Judges, Senate, Congress, plus a Twitter megaphone the likes of which had never been seen sealed the deal...poor Trumpy.

You say that now... be assured had he won the election y'all'd be singing another tune, not just whistlin' Dixie

The default view is reinforced daily: Orange man bad. Biden nice guy.

You reap what you sow...

Take what happened in the Trump era. During both his campaign for the presidency and his four years in office, Trump openly attacked the media, calling journalists or news organizations critical of him or his administration “fake news.” Consequently, his supporters’ existing perceptions of media bias and distrust of news organizations intensified — this was especially true among his white supporters, who are more likely to consume exclusively conservative media. For instance, at many of Trump’s campaign events, his supporters would disparage, attack and threaten the press. And now, when Trump’s supporters disagree with a fact, they can decry it as “fake news” — whether it be crowd size or election results.

Essentially, the researchers concluded that online discussions about “fake news” were a way for conservatives to create a sense of group belonging (“This is the worst kind of fake news possible. We have to stop this sort of thing”) while also establishing a shared enemy (“Fake News Media is a Hate Group. They hate President Trump”)...“what Trump does is connect that type of opposition to the media into a form of conservatism that just wasn’t around before.” And one byproduct of that is that media distrust is more central to conservatives’ group identity than it was before Trump. Or, as Lee put it, signaling media distrust is “much the same as wearing a red MAGA cap.”

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-being-anti-media-is-now-part-of-the-gop-identity/

The point is: it's easy to dismiss ideas and evidence as "fake" when they're not part of said 'hive-mind' paradigm.

As soon as you give us Ivanka and Jared's experience prior to their roles in the WH. (y)

If you weren't just being a blind smart ass, you'd know Jared Kushner and Ivanka have years of leadership experience. As opposed to years of failures and drug addiction like Hunter.

Jared helped broker peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia. He helped lobby for prison reform to undo Joe Biden's signature crime bill legislation.

led the charge behind the successful bid to secure the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and Summer Olympics in 2028.

moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem was designed, led and peacefully coordinated by Kushner.

worked on trade deal between United States, Mexico and Canada
--

Democrats said the moving the embassy would start a war. Instead Jarred was able to help Israel make peace with Saudi Arabia. Something nobody thought was possible.

See above. (y)

I am not sure what you don't understand. Someone registered to vote in the past, they are on the voter roll.

When someone dies it does not update in real time. How would it? Leading up to the election there was a pandemic. A lot of people died. You might not have heard about it.

Being listed on the voter roll doesn't mean you voted. What matters is how many dead people actually voted.

So far in Pennsylvania the only dead voters went for Trump.

This is yet more misinformation.

Brad

One more reason to clean all voter rolls every year.

Weird how the news cycle has left Gov Cuomo alone.

LOL, this keeps getting better...I am amazed (not really) that a sitting Congressman is this stupid. This dumbass had his transactions set to public. :xf.laugh:

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/08/us/politics/matt-gaetz-investigation.html

Indicted Matt Gaetz Associate Is Expected to Plead Guilty, Lawyers Say

The indication of a potential cooperation deal came as investigators were also examining a trip by Mr. Gaetz to the Bahamas and whether he discussed running a so-called ghost candidate in a local race.

“I am sure Matt Gaetz is not feeling very comfortable today,” - attorney for Gaetz associate Joel Greenberg on whether Congressman has anything to worry about now that his friend & associate is likely to plea.

Also - https://www.thedailybeast.com/gaetz-paid-accused-sex-trafficker-who-then-venmod-teen

Gaetz Paid Accused Sex Trafficker, Who Then Venmo’d Teen

In two late-night Venmo transactions in May 2018, Rep. Matt Gaetz sent his friend, the accused sex trafficker Joel Greenberg, $900. The next morning, over the course of eight minutes, Greenberg used the same app to send three young women varying sums of money. In total, the transactions amounted to $900.

The memo field for the first of Gaetz’s transactions to Greenberg was titled “Test.” In the second, the Florida GOP congressman wrote “hit up ___.” But instead of a blank, Gaetz wrote a nickname for one of the recipients. (The Daily Beast is not sharing that nickname because the teenager had only turned 18 less than six months before.) When Greenberg then made his Venmo payments to these three young women, he described the money as being for “Tuition,” “School,” and “School.”

One more reason to clean all voter rolls every year.

There is no reason to have dead people on voter rolls, but they also take time to update.

I don't think anyone has an objection to removing dead people from voter rolls.

My issue is when people twist being on the voter roll into these people actually voted. That is simply not true.

Pennsylvania has a population of 12.8 million. I think they were doing a decent job if there were only 20,000 dead people on the voter roll, especially during a pandemic. Even if it was updated every year there would be a lot more people that died statistically.

It's an issue for sure.

I realize it is only recently the GOP started caring, but what ideas do they have to fix it?

As great as staged photo-ops are, actual solutions would be better.

Maybe the GOP can worry less about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head and help with some actual ideas.

Brad

Obama built cages. Trump built a wall and enforced immigration law.

Bide invited this crisis and has done nothing but spend money on illegal immigrants and make things worse.

$60 million a week on housing for illegal immigrants

Booming business for drugs smugglers, sex and human traffickers.

Here's a pic of your dream girl crying at an empty parking lot. Still hasn't been to the border since Biden was elected.

That is not true. That is misinformation, period.

Makes sense. Pretty much the only people willing to attend sporting events (especially baseball) right now are the COVID denying, anti-science, Conservatives.

Don't forget guys. Dying of COVID is the ultimate way to troll the libs!!!

TX, MS and FL say hello, hope you're enjoying spring. CA, NJ, NY, MI say stay in your home and stay safe.

The election was a cluster f*** but that was what democrat lawyers, judges, SoS and election officials fought for.

Lax signature verification, no address required, statistical anomalies that would make winning the lottery a probability.

Count every democrat vote until we win ™

This is what Biden said:
“If you walk into a store and you buy a gun, you have a background check. But you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want and no background check,”

What a Stupid Statement from What they called "The President"
He is the expert in sniffing Girls and Women so he does not what it takes to buy a Gun.
