People of Praise:

In 2002, inspired by the Holy Spirit, People of Praise members began moving into some of America's poorest neighborhoods. Since then, we have lived closely with our neighbors and worked together to help meet pressing neighborhood needs. Our efforts include running summer camps for hundreds of children, repairing neighborhood homes, hosting prayer meetings, growing healthy food on an urban farm and establishing a private elementary school, Praise Academy at Lakeside. Longtime local residents have credited these efforts with lowering the crime rate and making the neighborhoods more beautiful and peaceful places to live.

Democrats are complaining about a church who's mission is to love and care for disadvantaged people.

It’s OK, it’s the best they’ve got!! :ROFL:

This will be easier confirmation than Brett’s.

No “Flake drama“ this year? :ROFL:

"Christian enthusiasm and fervor, together with charismatic gifts such as speaking in tongues and physical healing, as described in the New Testament book of Acts."

https://peopleofpraise.org/about/who-we-are/charismatic1/

It's taken from their site. Wikipedia has links to sources they use.

You post too quick. Read more.

And the speaking in tongues part, I think even you thought was weird since you act like it wasn't real. So you probably think they're weird as well.

Try having a little tolerance. Many Christian churches have different beliefs but remain true to God's law, are spirit filled and serving their communities.

Why are you so uptight about it?

There will be exceptions from people like Sen Fienstein. I think it will hurt democrats badly if they make a scene anything like Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation.

Rule #1: Never underestimate a politicians ability to do the wrong thing.

Having been led to places in this world where angels fear to tread, I question all and really get into the nitty gritty; for the mind wants to know what lies beyond the ramparts of this world. You're taking me on a trip down memory lane again...

Crossing through the desert, I spent about a week in Utah with some Mormons. There I visited the Salt Lake Temple, various gatekeepers could not answer all my questions, so I ended up going deeper into the inner sanctum. Although they had strong conviction, their Truths did not resound within me and I parted with a greater understanding. When I got home, two disciples were waiting outside my door, and they coming back, til I finally brushed them off with some Tongues of my own, lol. :-P

There are sacred places in the Far East where no other God-fearing Christian had ever been. Unable to have a deep discourse, it was still my great honour to have witnessed some of their sacred sights...and talk about trippy! :xf.confused:

Not a heck of alot of difference between the Shaman of North America and those in Siberia and northern Scandinavia (Sami). It also feels good to sweat. These people all have a common thread, and some of their Creation stories are similar to the Judao-Christian.

My point is, Wikipedia is just the beginning. If you're searching, do not take those words at face value, there is always a deeper meaning - and wisdom is the ability to discriminate and to decipher the truth. Generally I feel that I can tell the difference. Why then you might ask, do I keep hanging out with you guys, lol? O_o

We'll get to the bottom of this in due course, of that, I am certain. :couchpotato:

Missed this. You know where my issues are at.

It's not schools that help people out, it's not people practicing their religion as they see fit etc. Like I've mentioned many times, I have a lot of people in my family that are religious. Thanksgiving, everybody bows their head while somebody says a prayer. I always look up to see if everybody has their head down and they do.

My issues are very simple. When people use their religious beliefs to interfere in other people's lives, get in their business, etc.

In the case of Amy Barrett or in general.

If Karen is in love with Becky and wants to marry her, that is their business, not yours. If it was up to some, they would not be allowed to do this. It's legal now and has 0 affect on your life.

Or taking the rights away from women to decide what they want to do with their own body.

That kind of stuff.

In this case, probably taking health care away as well.

I'm perfectly fine with mind your own business type of religious folk. Live your life as you see fit, but stay out of other people's lives.

Below half peak of Obama’s

What does that mean?

It peaked at 10%

It was 4.7% when it was handed to Trump

It's 7.9% now

Bush's last year.
Jan 2008 - 5%
Feb 2009 the next year when Obama was sworn in - 7.8%

Bush handed him a mess

What does that mean?

It peaked at 9.9%

It was 4.7% when it was handed to Trump

It's 7.9% now

Im talking about peak ‘09 Recession

It above 10% and closer to 20%? 09-10
peak of the great recession

Under Trump it did not peak as high as 09-10.
We have to both manmade economic disaster.
Compare them;
Trump did better than Obamas great recession

One is from handing too many mortgage loans
(Presumably from Bill Clinton’s policies)
The other’s a virus; dont care how came.. here

No - https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

Actually peaked at 10% Oct 2009

Under Obama 10% was the highest, again Bush's last year shot up almost 3%. Obama got it, still going in that direction peaking at 10%, then dropped all the way down to 4.7% under Obama.

Fine; pretend for one second; it’s a wash;

Their reactions in hindsight were equal forward

Can we admit this is BS coverage?
This is why i make fun of CNN alllll day;
Side by Side coverage of latest jobs report;
Keep in mind; these are both leftist outlets

Which one has no shame in coverage?
CNN! No low they’ll go; No morals;

Hey, hey. Don't slag us off. I have a meeting with Nobel Peace Prize winner next week. We're not all slackers. I would guess most of the people here have done a lot for the world.

And what are those places no God-fearing Christian has been? (I'm not a God-fearing Christian, so maybe I know them!)

I find it funny that it seems universally agreed that Trump has killed 200,000 Americans - as though Covid-19 would have completely skipped over the US if Clinton had been President. Not a single person would have died from Covid.

I read their coverage to know “other side” level of delusion, self-denial; level hate; aimless; they never gave Obama; True “Patriots”

CNN owned by AT&T
HuffPost AOL owned by Verizon

Why liberal rags owned media conglomerates.
Do know why? seem bright; wit lots experience

Hah! Mine actually did stuff before getting the prize, depending on who you ask. You have to give Obama credit though. He got his cult off the ground and it's still running strong.

Nobody said their wouldn't have been any deaths.

People are pointing out the reality. We would have less if he had done things right. Easiest speech to give, the come together as Americans speech. We have a once in a lifetime type of pandemic. While we're fighting to find a vaccine, we need to come together as Americans and follow the guidelines set forth by our scientists, blah blah blah

Not remove social distancing stickers at his event

Not mask shame people

Not call into questions doctors, virologists etc.

Not slow down testing

Not call into question masks helping

Not continually having Super Spreader Events

etc.

Trump got Covid

Again, 4% of the population around 21% of the deaths is failure. There is no defending those numbers. If Hillary was President right now with those exact same numbers, you guys would be all over that.

Using an actual fact check site. Here is the timeline of Trump's Covid Comments

https://www.factcheck.org/2020/10/timeline-of-trumps-covid-19-comments/

Just a few nights ago.

“When needed, I wear masks. I don’t have — I don’t wear masks like [Biden]. Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away from — and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen.”
