I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Made 37th lol

Guess who used to own that one?

One weird thing this week is that I don't know where Drumlin.ca and Nasser.ca went to on the list - I remember putting them on there, but neither never made it to the final product, and as usual, I can only guess that @rlm snagged them as usual.

I placed a minimum bid on iBud.ca (on Sibernames), then got an email saying they couldn't get it, but I just checked the TBR results and it isn't listed (but it's now taken, I assume as a leftover). I'm far from upset, but that's not supposed to happen is it? Shouldn't Sibernames go after every domain people placed a bid on?

I had that happen last week (luckily I was able to hand-reg it), and apparently there are some bugs in the system if 2 TBR registration attempts are sent at virtually the same time. It looks like they virtually cancel each other out and the domain is marked as taken.

But apparently these are being fixed....

Had that happen to me before as well esdiel.
Funny I was looking at ibud after the tbr and it was available but thought I would think about it but as you said ..now gone

Well you might be right, at least partially. That's why I do my own research :) Although everything else I went after was in your list I think.

I mostly got what I was going after though, so I was happy. 5 without a post-auction, 2 with a post-auction - so we'll see how those pan out.

The problem is that I tend to do this late at night, with multiple files/programs open, and Windows is really screwy if you have multiple copies of the same document open concurrently. I can duplicate saving and closing one, then closing the others (without saving) and have the changes I made in the first file disappear. No idea why it happens, but it can.

Those two domains were the only ones I could find that I lost and as they're 6-7 letters (I parse by # letters) it would have been around the same time.

Windows?!? That still exist? It's time you invest in a Macbook or iMac, or both :P I kid i kid.

In other news:

1. Tom Hanks and his wife test positive for corona virus;
2. US is not accepting any flights from Europe for the next 30 days, except for UK (great job Trump!); and
3. NBA suspended the rest of the season after a few players tested positive for coronavirus.

I think #2 is only for foreign nationals, but not US Citizens.

FYI, my comment was not meant as a slight towards you and the effort you put into making your lists. You do a great job of covering the majority of anything anyone might be interested in, but we all see things a little differently so there's always the chance you or anyone else won't see something that catches my eye. And I have to dive deep into my research anyways to narrow that list of maybes down to a list of domains I'm actually going to chase. That's really the part that takes the most time for me.

I can't afford it after buying the kids top-of-the-line units for school. :xf.cool:

I know that, I am just personally irritated that every few weeks I see a few "missing domains" pop up, as I know why it happens - I create a DB for the domains, then run queries and slap those into a pre-configured Excel file, but I also like to keep another copy open to visually scan what I already have.

Sometimes, for whatever random reason, if I close the edited one first, Windows "forgets" about the additions and the visual one supersedes.I think in the future I'll just have to keep one copy active at a time and made do.

As for "differing tastes" I know what you mean - I sometimes see domains that I "like", but were dropped last year, have a GD value of under $100, and don't fit any discernible category, so I just keep a list and mass-buy when they go on sale. One man's junk... :yuck:

Haha you took that surprisingly well. I was afraid I might start a heated PC vs MAC debate. Most Windows PC people hate Mac and will spend 20+ minutes explaining to me why they think Mac sucks when i make comments like that. lol

Nah, I like them both and I was salivating over a 27" iMac in BB yesterday, but I still need that PC value. I run a very inexpensive Dell Micro I got on a business clearance list for $799 that has an i7-9700T and is upgraded from 8 to 16GB + a top-end 1GB NVME SSD that just tears through business stuff. Add in a 32" QHD monitor on sale and for ~$1200+tx I have a tiny+silent yet still-beastly setup for number crunching.

You just can't get that kind of value in a Mac, but I still like them a lot and my kids swear by them.

I'll bite. Who was it? I googled around a bit and didn't recognize the names associated with it. You can send a PM if you prefer

Me.

I almost renewed it, but I did a major corporate search and found nothing, looked at organizations using that acronym and found nothing, QBK*com isn't developed, so I decided to trade the renewal fees against a lowball TBR or handreg name.

Ah, ok. Lol.

Makes sense since I don't know your name. I was thinking you were talking about Adam Dicker or some other well know Canadian domainer

LOL, no worries and I guess "high-falutin" wasn't enough of a dandy term for you. :xf.grin:

I just think it's a mixture of weird and cool when someone else snags your drops.

Thanks, that was mine. :)

It actually sold Feb 13th but took forever to get paid, hence the delay in reporting it (I assume).

I picked it up as a TBR about 14 months ago. I knew the letters weren't great but felt like it had a chance at selling since it sounds like "ecstasy".

@rlm . Looks like Sedo does give their results to Namebio before DNJournal now. The sale was posted on Namebio yesterday and DNJournal still hasn't reported it yet.

i'll pay you $300 if you hook me up with buyer and he successfully buys my xtz//co domain for 3k or more. :)
cheers

Received a legit $100K offer on an LLL.ca today. I countered. We'll see. It's a good one, so I'm hesitant to sell even at that price. If I do, hopefully there's no NDA as I would probably be willing to report it.

just curious how you determine it was legit?
may I ask why one would counter 100k offer on a 3l.ca? is it because this 3l.ca cost you like > 90k? lastly, im curious to ask, what in your head is meant by a good 3l.ca? like a word? I know its not jkv.ca. cause that wouldn't be good :P

hope you get a nice fat sale! that makes yer wallet explode.

This is all hypothetical, but this is how I see it unfolding:

1) legit offer = straight from the company, no pussy-footing around or ID disguises, just a straight-up "Yo bitch, I wanna buy ABC.ca for $100K"

2) Counter a $100K offer - well let's hypothetically say the domain is RBC.ca - $100K is what the CEO's butler used to wipe his ass this morning, so yeah you counter.

Again, everything is hypothetical, but it'll be something along those lines.

hahah.. good hypothetical answers then
aside from being hypothetical.. getting an offer from a bank is also extremly rare. which is why in avg situation, one does not counter 100k on a 3l.ca (Which still isn't a 3l.com).... unless of course one paid this 3l.ca say > 90k... but then another question arises who or why would pay 90k for a 3l.ca
