I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Received a legit $100K offer on an LLL.ca today. I countered. We'll see. It's a good one, so I'm hesitant to sell even at that price. If I do, hopefully there's no NDA as I would probably be willing to report it.

Your first name? lol

XTZ.ca sold for $3k at Sedo last week.

https://namebio.com/xtz.ca

Doesn't resolve yet, but congrats to the seller for getting a nice price on a historically non-premium letter combination

Holy shit! They didn't start with that offer did they? Are they all premium letters or is it a single word?

Thanks, that was mine. :)

It actually sold Feb 13th but took forever to get paid, hence the delay in reporting it (I assume).

I picked it up as a TBR about 14 months ago. I knew the letters weren't great but felt like it had a chance at selling since it sounds like "ecstasy".

@rlm . Looks like Sedo does give their results to Namebio before DNJournal now. The sale was posted on Namebio yesterday and DNJournal still hasn't reported it yet.

Congrats @esdiel . Was it sold at BIN or was there some negotiation?

Really nice sale Esdial - congratulations! Was your lander for it pointed at Sedo, and do you find that a good marketplace for selling .ca?

I might be wrong, but I believe that most Sedo are pulled automatically by NameBio from a daily feed so yes, that would be the case.

Congrats once more!

Bob

This is undoubtedly in reference to the Tezos cryptocurrency. Ticker: XTZ.

A nice sale.

It sold as BIN on Sedo but was actually the result of an outbound. It took him a week to respond but he didn't try to negotiate, other than asking me to knock off $100 to make it an even 3K. The bin price was 3500 (on Sedo) when i first contacted him, so maybe he saw that and was happy with the $500 discount.

I wanted to do a push and avoid fees/commissions, but mentioned Escrow.com and Sedo as alternatives. Unfortunately he chose Sedo because he had used them before, but when i crunched the numbers it only cost me like $145 more to use Sedo over Escrow.com. I also heard that Escrow.com asks for a lot of documents these days (for companies at least), so i didn't want to bother insisting over a relatively small amount.

Okay well hopefully someone will by my airline code ybz.ca lol

No, unfortunately I don't own it, nor my lastname... Never tried to acquire the first name. I offered $10K for my lastname, but they wanted to keep it (it was their lastname too, and they had started a business using it).

I have went through a bunch of premiums in my head with 3 letters and haven’t got it yet. I thought it could have been sex but no guy would want to part with that anyway. :xf.grin:

Holy sh*t! They didn't start with that offer did they? Are they all premium letters or is it a single word?

Technically, yes, it was their first offer. I've been telling all inquiries that the domain wasn't really for sale for a long time. I suspect they've inquired before, possibly multiple times over the past year plus. This time under an anonymous name/email. I talked to him on the phone to verify the legitimacy of the offer, he said it was a legit standing offer, top of their budget, but he blatantly said he didn't want to say who he was working for. I have my suspicions, but it doesn't matter honestly who it is. I countered with a price offering to close in person since I just happen to be in Calgary this week (I suspect they're from Calgary). I'm kinda hoping to do that just for the fun of it, my last 3 major sales also all closed while I was on a vacation. Realistically I doubt it can happen that quick though.

Nice job, your gut on the TBR pick payed off. XTZ is a crypto - that's likely the reason for the purchase.

BTW, I first met Ron back on 2004, so if I can officially report anything, it'll be to Ron first, just out of respect for him doing this from the very beginnings of the industry.

Yeah, escrow can be a pain lately for new customers. It's like, oh by the way, we're gonna hold your money until you prove your identity. So I think they're deceptive by not spelling it out upfront before a transaction is agreed to. But once you do the documentation, you're hopefully good forever.

Haha, that's not it, but only 17,575 more guesses to go :)

If it actually sells, I think it'll all be pretty obvious as to who bought it and why. Even if I can't say the final price, I'll at least say the domain sold.

Not a word, not all premium letters, but its not exactly random letters either.

Got 3... Actually happy with what I got.

Nice. Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised too, I scored the only one I really went after. MyID picked it up and no auction to boot.

Nice! Where did you meet him?

BTW....I noticed DNJournal reported it shortly after my post last night, so there was only about a 24 hour difference between the two reporting it. I guess it's possible Sedo gives the results to both at the same time, and Namebio is just faster at reporting it.

I used to go to a lot of domainer conferences, including the very first one, T.R.A.F.F.I.C in Delray Beach back in 2004. Ron always went too.
