To Be Released (TBR) Weekly .CA Picks for March 11, 2020

The .CA numbers have literally dropped off the table and barely made it above the 5K mark. The quality level is also very low and whatever cream there is at the top is also an extremely thin layer. This means our Top Picks list doesn’t look too bad on the surface, and includes...

Short Lists Got No Reason To Live

Remember that in provinces that have Daylight Savings Time, the TBR moves ahead an hour, which for EST means 3PM.

At least it should as 7PM UTC = 3PM EST.

So the cutoff times remain the same, but the TBR run moves to an hour later? Reason I ask is Namespro still has this disclaimer...

On Wednesday, bidding will stop at 13:40 EST (10:40 PST) and resume at 00:00 EST (21:00 PST) for the next TBR session.

Thanks for the list, @DomainRecap.

I see that networks on your list sold previously (2011) for $3000 - surprising to see it drop, as obviously tons of use. I suspect multiple people will want it.

NP is wrong and I suspect that they'll allow you +1 hour (if you're on DS) to bid on TBR orders, but you never know, and last year a few registrars mistakenly locked it early the first week of the time change.I think a few even ran it early when Fury was new.

You might want to message support to advise them the TBR end time warning needs to be updated.

Definitely, and I see this going Number 1 with a bullet, probably to either MyID or Siber, but maybe FWS or NP can sneak in.

But it's a very thin layer of cream this week and I think all the major action will be over in the first round.

So far at NamesPro, we have two top bis:

$110 and $100

I bet one is for Networks.ca

Got a reply back from Namespro, they will not be changing their cutoff time

Hi Spex,

Thank you for your inquiry. Our TBR bidding cut-off time will remain unchanged (at 13:40 EST).

Wow, that's interesting to know, Thanks.

And true to their word, NP cut off bidding an hour early with the highest being:

$1,205.00

I think a lot of people thought it was starting at 2PM, as at around 1:45 my auctions changed drastically at several registrars, likely due to hour-early snipes. Nice try. :xf.cool:

And the same with ROJ.ca.

Be Released (TBR) .CA Results & Leftovers for March 11, 2020

The TBR list fell of a big cliff, down to just above 5K domains for the week. and the overall quality wasn’t anything to write home about either. The Top 10 Picks featured some notable domains that included...

TBR Dinner is Served!

Made 37th lol

Guess who used to own that one?

One weird thing this week is that I don't know where Drumlin.ca and Nasser.ca went to on the list - I remember putting them on there, but neither never made it to the final product, and as usual, I can only guess that @rlm snagged them as usual.

I placed a minimum bid on iBud.ca (on Sibernames), then got an email saying they couldn't get it, but I just checked the TBR results and it isn't listed (but it's now taken, I assume as a leftover). I'm far from upset, but that's not supposed to happen is it? Shouldn't Sibernames go after every domain people placed a bid on?

I had that happen last week (luckily I was able to hand-reg it), and apparently there are some bugs in the system if 2 TBR registration attempts are sent at virtually the same time. It looks like they virtually cancel each other out and the domain is marked as taken.

But apparently these are being fixed....
