The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
1. Don't want buyer to know how many sales I had and how many offers, My poor ratio is a negative.

2. I do like the domain expert a lot but see no obvious way to contact or call the expert. So a dubious value.

3. And the biggest negative is don't see any way a buyer can first look at financing options as a sales tool I can use to help him decide to buy with a pre-selected financing term and the payment plan from 1 to 5-years.

4. Worse yet, did not see a way to make an offer, only buy at BIN with terms selected after clicking buy. In fact, did not see a way to submit an offer on that page, just buy at BIN price.

1 - 4 spot on (y)

(feedback and the questions are very important for continuous improvement)

100% argee the BIN STILL NEEDS the MAKE OFFER with/& or Below it!

It's to powerful and creates dialog to leave Make offer out!

Such as this, this Lander has NAILED IT! (Desktop view looks flawless on this one) with The Options

I will not post the Serivce as I want to keep this DAN thread on DAN! But please take a look @DAN.COM

Note ( Mobile & desktop version look different) but this set up on is money and if Dan had the make offer /with BIN and also a contact buyer button .....there’d be nothing left for I to ask for from dan

Basically If Make Offer is Added to the BIN window - I’d be a happy camper ...I mean Dan’er :)

Looks great.

Domain seller box, let us choose what to display between these 4 currently rotating

-trusted seller
-responds within
-offers received
-sales made

Would be great.

The new lease option sounds very good but I don't plan to enable it until glitches or undesirable features are gone.

I absolutely do not want my number of domains, sales data, or alleged online status displayed
. No one asked me if I did or asked me to consent to that. Other platforms do not do that.

Does online status refer to time of last login, or time of last click while logged in?
How long is the login period now before forced logout? Dan.com so far has kept me logged in for days at a time.

Thanks again for the improvements, far ahead of the pack here.

Also showing typical seller response time is not a good idea. Some replies take time to consider, other times it makes sense to keep people waiting to avoid seeming desperate, other times research into the buyer is needed, other times details of the listing of the same domain on other platforms need adjusting before replying. And some of us do sleep.

This seems to be part of the whole overpromising mentality where everything is allegedly instant, except support and weekend transfers.

I have found Dan.com support to be responsive and good - so will you be publishing typical response times for Dan.com support and staff? And for transfers?

Agreed. These needs to be taken off, and the link to the profile , not necessary.

Also number of domains sold. These three things, the link, the response, the number of sales, should all be removed or made optional so each seller can set his preferred settings. Online status can be good if only the buyer will have a option of instantly communicating with the seller, if not, I am not sure it will help the buyer.

You can disable link to profile in the privacy settings.

I had that set and it was still showing a link, I removed the tick then did it, now it is not linking to the domains, the username is being normal. Other members also mentioned it being like this. So yes, it works. Now we need to sort out the two other issues.

the minimum price for the lease to own option is 495 €

I would like to be able to use it for smaller installments as well

like 380 € min price

I think the member registration/join date is not needed too.

This "start from $10000 per month" makes the domain look much more expensive than it really is. It needs to offer something significantly less than total per month to be appealing...

Good morning Don Gondon,

Thank you for notifying us. We have isolated the issue and made sure to resolve it.

Have a great day!

@DAN.COM @LaszloSchenk

new landing page shows, Domain Seller as online or offline. Does it mean that if the domain seller is online and the buyer clicks on it , he/she can chat with him/her ? Otherwise there is no use of showing the seller as online/offline.

When I click on it, it doesnt open any chat window
Good morning Harshgupta,

The landing page shows if the domain seller is online or offline in order to increase customer engagement. A lead is easily tempted to submit an offer for a specific domain when noticing the owner is actually present and able to reply to the offer fast. It does not open a separate chat window, however.

Have a great day!

Good morning Frank-germany,

As indicated by Reza we currently have to impose a minimum of $99 due to high payment and domain transfer processing fees. As we find more efficient ways to handle “micro” payments, the minimum amount will likely decrease to $10-$20 / month.

Have a great day!

1750 ”brand package” logos are missing for me. What’s up with that? @LaszloSchenk
Good morning Trelgor,

Please reach out to me directly through [email protected] or our chat. I would need some additional information in order to have our team investigate the matter.

@Dan please allow option to have DAN "domain expert" removed from landing page. No reason for it to be there and sets tone with buyer that this is who is on the other end that they are dealing with.
Good morning SuperNames,

We have added these sections based on extensive customer research. As you all know, trust is a high impacting factor within this industry. The "domain owner" box showing all details is added in order to ensure the trust is actually strengthened. In addition, the "domain expert" box is added for the very same reason. As you all know, our account managers and support deal with your buyers continuously. One returning aspect is that these buyers value knowing who they deal with and who is taking care of them during their purchase. I understand you might assume it could be distracting but on the contrary, it results in your buyers committing to paying faster.

We are confident that the changes we have imposed will only positively influence our users results with DAN.COM.

https://dan.com/users/settings/for_sale - on this page in the "Meet the seller" section from the beginning of my Undeveloped usage - I have set "Don't show anything".
But since today they display publicly on my landers how many domains I sold and my online/offline status...
In other words - my privacy was ignored.

Good morning Jurgen Wolf,

We have isolated this issue as well. It has been resolved and will not resolve in your profile from here on out.

Have a great day!

I managed to discover that the logos are hidden under the lease to own form. Show attachment 142360
Would it be too much to ask to have the logo replace the domain name on top? It would seem natural. I know you say logos can be detrimental. Mine are not, and they cost both time, effort and money.

Also, I don’t quite like the color scheme here. Blue and green like that. More options coming?

Also, some weird lines on top there, see them? On an Iphone.

Another thing. Less is more. Do you really need the explanation of what is included right there? (Domain + logo). I think it would be cleaner and more direct without or presented at another place/stage.

About ”domain expert”. Suggestion: ”Domain transfer concierge” or something like that.

Great that you have tested conversion rate projections. I think sellers would have had nothing against being included in the beta testing though, you would have found more improvements at no extra cost. Think about that next time.

Good morning Trelgor,

You can select three different colors for your background image in this case. Regardless, I will forward your remarks to our product team. In addition, I will notify them that the logo on mobile seems to disappear under the lease to own form.

Have a great day!

In the new Sales and Revenue Accelerator feature, what does this line mean:

"The revenue from this markup is split between the seller and DAN and reinvested into the marketplace."
Good morning Nikhil Jain,

The markup is an additional fee paid by the buyer for using the extensive lease to own. The markup is added on the total sale price, and 50% of the markup will be used by DAN to cover for the recurring payment processing fees, domain renewals & providing DNS support to the buyer for example. The remaining 50% of the markup is paid out to our sellers.

Have a great day!

Looks great, I think! Will be exciting to see how it works out.

One small suggestion: When a potential buyer clicks "Lease to own now", I think it should be possible to drag the actual text that says "drag me" instead of only the timeline beneath it.
Good morning Embrand,

Great to hear that. I will make sure to forward your suggestion straight away.

Have a great day!

Why I cant set max Installments to 24 anymore?! please fix it.
Show attachment 142369
Good morning Boudi Kai,

We have released the new lease to own feature. Currently, you can grant installments up to 12 terms. Additional terms can be realized but only through the lease to own model.

Have a great day!

a huge issue is the handling of the VAT

in germany VAT ( value addied Taxes ) is 19%

so it's a huge difference in terms of price awareness
if its 19% more or less

selling at afternic doesn't need VAT to be discussed
as afternic acts as the seller
to whom I sell and
the buyer buys from afternic- great:
no VAT from germany

sell at sedo means : all prices include VAT
which is really bad as when the buyer is not from germany
he sees a price that is 19% higher than asking for

sedo refuses to handle this issue for more than 10 years

now at DAN they understood and handle it well

but it's more complex in terms of
how to get the sale

when a buyer from germany is not a consumer who buys the domain for his daughter,
but a business person, who buys the domain in order to generate more business
he most of the time gets the VAT amount refunded by the tax authorities

means: he doesn't need to spend the VAT amount - just pays the amount upfront and gets it refunded later

so he is not interested in that amount in the first place
when talking to a customer on the phone you would never mention the price including VAT
but only name the price excl VAT

so you talk about 2500 euro, not 2500 plus tax 2975 €
talking about 2975 € would be mad as that is much higher = eventually no sale

but when the buyer is private you are legally not allowed to show the VAT excl. price
and later add the VAT

so its all about how to display it properly in order to comply legally and still get the sale from a business person

the idea is: not to scare them away when showing the BIN

here is how DAN does it

Show attachment 142221

the price incl 19% is showed dominantly and the focus is on that ( far to high price )

I would suggest showing 19% including price
but in a way that it hard to focus on that price

maybe that way

Show attachment 142222

as we speak:

it's no good german to use:
"auf dieser Domain"
maybe you simply skip that part

Show attachment 142223
Good morning Frank-germany,

Just re-read your statement and wanted to let you know that it is possible to show your buy now prices including VAT which would provide a solution already!

Please contact me directly in case you have any additional questions.

Dan.com Can you make a tutorial video about the process of purchasing a domain name? Because buyers asking how the process will proceed after an agreement has been reached.

Should DAN as a registrar joins afternic, it should be accepted. Why not, we are also have Dynadot, Epik, NameSilo, NameCheap - they are all afternic partners, and run own marketplaces. And, there is no other way to have domains listed on GD. So the question is to DAN - if, in its opinion, Afternic/GD is a competitor - then DAN may elect not to join Afternic.
Good morning Tonyk2000,

Thank you for reaching out.

We have no plans regarding this so far. We will first have to establish a great registrar before any such decision can be outed.

Have a great day!
