I also am amazed they ask people to submit on a website that is not https. Bob
this helps us choose what names go into the pre-bidding process and helps to increase value and improves chances of selling the domains. Why would you not be interested in that?
I think that is based mainly on traffic of which most ngtld get very little so that's a non starter.I also find disturbing the fact that they force you to redirect your DNS to ParkingCrew and in my understanding, if you refuse, they won't even consider your domains.

btw I have contacted Monte about this and said,
You might want to fix it for the folks who are submitting their personal information online.
and His response was this;
Doesn’t need one - its just a domain submission page
.co.com is not a new gTLD
Actually it is not even an extension.
It's a private subdomain managed by CentralNic.

While SSL is no guarantee it at least makes it harder. They could buy a commercial one and implement it easily or even use a free Lets Encrypt. Not doing so seriously weakens my view of the Namescon auction process.

I agreeLooks like Namescon is so amateur, that they leave room for some serious (()) competition.
.co.uk
.co.za
.co.nz
.co.th
.co.jp
.co.kr
.co.in
.co.at
are also sub-domains... and they work .
In my opinion they could add this brand new GTLD
.co.com
So far we know this much. All of which is troubling.
1. The Terms and Conditions are lopsided.
2. The submission form is unsecure.
3. Parking is required for some people, but not all.
4. The chief "domain decider" lobbied for the New Gtld's, but doesn't put them in auction.
5. The word "premium" is used in an undefined manner, meaning different things at different times.
6. Many domains are from one portfolio with suspected reserves as high as 2 million.
7. The auction platform used was involved in a highly controversial issue regarding shill bidding and insider trading that took advantage of domain investors.

Yes, MB is reputable. However, I don't believe he has been involved for many years.Do you know any nP user who sold a domain at these auctions? Anyone?
And can anyone tell us if these domain auctions attract end-users or start-ups in any way? Like do they attend to the auction?
Never attended this event, anyone have an 1st hand experience?
Let's keep in mind that Monte Cahn and Michael Berkens are reputable internet entrepreneurs, but I totally agree with these;
I voted for no. If there was a HELL NO option I would have chose that
Can't hold back diarrhea eitherYou can't avoid ntlds, it is the future. Many people trying to hold them down. You can't hold back a volcano!

Afraid of what your .frogs Ngtlds will never become crap just over produced worthless baseball cards. I better adapt lol man get out of here. You probably dont even own one good domain name. Idiots that make no sales allways have a lot to sayAfraid of the future, afraid of the way naming is going? Better to adapt to change than be run over by it.
Fortune 500 companies & startup companies are all shifting to new tlds. Hundreds applied for there own tld. Those who missed out are sorry. Google switched to abc.xyz. Who would have thought? That world has changed!
