I thought I'd start a new break room thread. The great thing about this thread is you can say whatever the heck you want (except adult) and it's ON TOPIC.

All you have to do is post whatever is in your head when you are here. Simple.

Here are some acronyms we like to use:

YPSBT Your Post Sucks Big Time
YPITDB Your post is the dog's bollox
LPOD - Last Post of Day
FPOD - First....
SPOD - Second.
FPOTWN - Funny Post of the Week Nominee

Featured Friends
Johname - he doesn't have a cool nickname except johname. He is a legend. He is our local animation expect.
DU/Grace Delete aka __ aka Rickey (due to propensity to retire).
Iowa - Your source of gas prices, bacon futures, and stuff.
JBLions - Will teach you about mattress purchasing, beer, and how to remove birds from cages
Briguy Debartolo - More NP$ than everyone
Mis_Chiff - Fellow Canadian of Bri - she's a wild one

GILSAN - He posts photos. Cool ones. He also worships CR7 (if you don' t know who that is? you are advised to learn before engaging him in conversation)
JDAB - He has hot women on his new bed... but he worked hard for them
Rogue - Called Rouge more often than the movie Moulin Rouge
Cyberian - He goes by Cy. He's older than the forum. Likes the lakers and pops in sometimes to offer support and counselling.
NS - He doesn't look like the cartoons. He's an enigma. His avatar is usually hot.

SPECIAL SPECIAL GUESTS
Blobfish and girlfriend.

Grace Delete / DefaultUser / WorldsWorstDomainer will personally thank EVERY SINGLE post in this thread UNTIL someone says something about post count and gets too obsessed about reputations and starts gaming the system etc.

^ That has happened so no more ...was fun while it lasted.

Johname will personally LIKE every post in this thread until he doesn't

No racist, sexist, homophobic material that woudnt be acceptable in the 70s please.
We are ok with boobs and we are ok with men with abs (or whatever it is that makes them attractive). Ogling is healthy. Violence, not accepting that it is shallow and non-meaninful judge of people etc. is not. The most important virtue of this thread is respect for all.

Here are some topics that this thread has had:

I think the crowd should decide.

If adsense is new shouldn't be a problem..most of my problems were from images and such (Amazon/eBay javascripts/iframes etc) that had "http:" (not https) in the url (img src)!

Found the culprit....... https://extremetracking.com/ now removed.

Free tracker, this was on old sites. A little too open, you could do a site: command and find other sites using that tracker, and see their stats, traffic, keywords (before Google took that info away) used to find their pages etc.

Still can - https://www.google.com/search?q=sit...LI2K5wKshp34BQ&start=90&sa=N&biw=1536&bih=700

Now all my sites are showing green, all good.

I used to use blogads.com back in the day to advertise my sites. That also gave all kinds of information on sites. For example, take a site like PerezHilton, you could find out how much traffic they were getting, how many ad impressions, how much they were charging for a 125x125 banner above the fold etc. Very interesting insight.

Finished The Americans, great show. Now to find another good one.

Back on my reading grind - 9 Stories by JD Salinger author of Catcher in the Rye.

Watching this show on Netflix, looked like a nice little England town, Amersham. But this always blows my mind. You think of England, I think big but:

You can put 5 Englands into the state of Texas, square miles wise

England - 50,301 mi²
https://www.google.com/search?clien.......0...1c..64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.JXefD5aALcI

Texas - 268,597 mi²
https://www.google.com/search?clien.......0...1c..64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.sQerkq06UxY

I always see countrysides and such (again seems big) but then you have big places like London, how do they cram all that in.

Georgia - 59,425 mi² bigger than England
https://www.google.com/search?clien...c.1.64.psy-ab..2.5.646...0i13k1.0.Gs1FUB8AbWw

ha, Iowa too - 56,273 mi²

https://www.google.com/search?clien...ab..1.3.392...0i13k1j0i8i7i30k1.0.PbEog_GK6RI

America - 3.797 million mi²
Canada - 3.855 million mi²

We should go ahead and invade it, make it a state, same size as a state.

Throw in Wales and Scotland with England and you have Great Britain.
80,823 square miles.

Kansas basically - 82,277

https://state.1keydata.com/states-by-size.php

Scotland, Braveheart filmed there, seems like another big place. But Great Britain, fits in Kansas

Scotland seems huge. Just seems weird to me.

Bulldoze Kansas, not much happening there. Invade and then import Great Britain into that bulldozed land. Then, it's easier to travel to see nice things. Can drive to the former Kansas, hang out in London for breakfast, drive to the Scotland mountains for lunch, dinner in Wales. Imagine the tourist dollars.

side note @johname you've given professional appraisals, or anybody else I'm stuck on one. Offer for 8x what I paid but seems low:

I am retired from appraisals

But not from friends asking

The big thing to me is there not too many ways to make money off of waterskiers. They have a boat and very few pieces of equipment that probably last a long time.

And its seasonal, 3/4 of the year it is probably not on people's mind.

Would be a badass forum but aren't we told forums are on the way out unless they own the subject like NP Nice online magazine

I looked at various ****er that describe people participating in some activity. 2-5k

^ It wouldn't be the water skier buying the domain, more likely the product/event promoter, or an independent pro with a big online presence. But agreed, most water skiers love water skiing too much to give a $hit about domains, except me of course. We just want to be gliding on the water, cutting the wake and throwing a spray. Best, most beautiful sport in the world. Holy grail is leaning so low into a cut your elbow grazes the water..

John Horton one of my favorites. He's got a site with an awesome domain name, Ball of Spray. Water Ski Magazine used to be my favorite subscriptions, they use Water Ski Mag for site. "Waterskier" would be waaay better. I think the domain could fetch low to mid 5 figures if the right person looked at it.

Holy grail:

Not seasonal if your in Costa Rica:

But, if you throw in Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, you have the United Kingdom.

SocialKnowledge.com has done well using forums and has many recreation related websites. They typically buy websites, not domains.

WaterSkier sounds like a great brand upgrade for a publication. I didn't see much advertising on G or Bing, something between 5K and 10K.

Just push that to the neighboring states, their economy will flourish, then just think, women with Scottish accents.

I was checking out Kansas in the Globe, right in the middle of America. Sometimes I like to zoom in on little specs of land in the middle of the ocean, think I posted about this one before, Fair Isle. North of the UK, West of Norway.

https://www.google.com/maps/place/F...dc00dcf5b8573ac9!8m2!3d59.532142!4d-1.6302681

Populations - 55, can you imagine living on an island with 55 people.

Only 33 people on Foula - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foula

And they're making sweaters for us:
"Fair Isle is also noted for its woollen jumpers, with knitting forming an important source of income for the women of the islands. The principal activity for the male islanders is crofting."

Bird observatory - Fair Isle has a permanent bird observatory, founded by George Waterston in 1948.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Isle

Look at this, the observatory, how grand it is, on an island of 55, can almost have the island to yourself.

I should do a travel site for a living, visit the least inhabited islands. Or maybe a site, something that will hold my interest.

lol....why invade, get a few billionaires together and buy the country and lease it back to them, Canadians! I can manage Northern Ontario at a reasonable salary (one US dollar less than what Lebrons best year)..

Read some interesting stats about California...has the 6th largest GNP in the world?
