3: Distribution partners
This is interesting. Can you provide more details about what distribution partnerships do you have in place?

Hi Anant,

You can read more about out distribution strategy here: https://www.slideshare.net/RezaSardeha1/udp-unused-domain-pool-by-undevelopedcom

In about 2 months DAN (Domain Automation Network) goes live and one of the main components of DAN is the Unused Domain Pool, which we will start offering in combination with DAN to anyone that has relevant traffic or inventory to add to the network.

The beauty of our model is that unlike Godaddy/Afternic & Sedo(MLS) we're building an open network for anyone to tap into from both an integration point of view as inventory distribution point of view. If Godaddy & Sedo also join the network, the entire industry will benefit from it. If they won't, our expectation is that our UDP will be the top domain sale/rental distribution network within 3 years since we can offer way more value by combining the network with DAN.

DAN can handle domain escrow, fully automated for 95% of all domain extensions allowing instant domain purchases and sales for a fraction of the cost.

UDP will also have more options than what Godaddy/Afternic & Sedo offer to their integrators. We'll add the option, for example, to distribute and promote domain rentals & domains in auction across the entire network.

At the moment already one big registry is on the verge of implementing UDP and a number of registrars already distribute our inventory via the first version of UDP.

Kind regards,
Reza

I understand if you cannot reveal the name of the former but can you share registrars (and TLDs) where this is live so that we can take look at what this looks like and what the flow is?

Thanks

Of course. See screenshot below from the second biggest registrar (Mijndomein) in the Netherlands how they implemented a part of the inventory. Their UI is in Dutch but "Doe een bod" means "Place an offer" and "Te koop" means "For sale".

Most registrars implement the inventory in their search. So when a user searches for a domain that's already registered but for sale, they'll show options to purchase the name.

A WHOIS provider that recently implemented it is Domaineye.com, but it seems the link to our inventory is temporary disabled as I can't see it but it should be there.

Later when we have more inventory (currently close to 3M) we'll also start offering incentives to Domaintools & Domainiq to distribute our inventory. But due to our inventory being smaller than Sedo's for example, we're not ready for them yet.

The registry I was talking about is .EU, they'll implement our .EU inventory directly in their official search.

From an attention perspective, our team is until DAN is live working mostly on DAN. Once DAN is live (and that won't take much longer) we expect to be able to attract more inventory and go after the bigger distribution parties out there.

Hope that helps,

Reza

Thanks Reza. This definitely help. Looks nice! I tried a couple of my domains (pointed to Undeveloped) but wasn't able to replicate the result similar to SolyFlores.com above. I assume this is due to DAN being in testing right now.
Wasn't able to figure out how to do a whois lookup in domaineye (I don't have an account with them).

Looking forward to DAN going live and getting even more eyes on our domains! :)
Thank you...

Our biggest barrier to scale UDP currently remains Undeveloped's inventory. We're the youngest marketplace out there so not everyone lists with us yet and that makes the reach of our inventory at this point not good enough to get the heavy hitters on board. But we'll get there. Especially when third-party inventory owners sign-up and add inventory in bulk to the network.

In end, we have to make sure we add enough value to get integrators to switch to our network.

Indeed, they're not publishing all inventory that's available yet. That's the somewhat annoying part of going in this route, we have to put quite some efforts in to get integrators fully on board in the current setup. I do expect this to change when DAN is live as DAN will solve most issues integrators have for the sales part of the process.

Hi Harsh,

We have no minimum required for bank transfers. We send bank wires with the option toggled to share the bank fees. Usually, your bank will charge you a fee between $5 and $10 for accepting an international wire but this varies per bank.

Kind regards,
Reza

and you provide invoice too right ? some banks demands invoice for accepting wire transfer

reason for asking is that i just started using you fully and didn't have any sale yet, so don't know about the system completely.

Yes, we automatically create and give you access to all invoices required for selling a domain. So once you have a successful sale with us you'll get a Buyer invoice, Seller invoice and a transaction overview with all details of the three parties involved.

at afternic when I sell a domain
afternic is the seller

not me

that is an advantage
when I sell a domain to a german via sedo
that means 19% VAT is lost in the deal to me

not with afternic as they are the seller

how is undeveloped dealing with that?

With us, you can decide how we handle VAT for your account. Tomorrow an upgraded VAT feature will launch which allows you to determine how exactly we'll handle VAT for you.

The three options are:

1: Have your prices ex VAT if applicable. So when you set an asking price of €1000 and you have a buyer from Germany. They check out €1000 + €190. Undeveloped then pays you out the total sale price minus our commission + 100% of the collected VAT on your behalf.

2: Have your prices inc VAT if applicaple. When VAT is applicable, the VAT will be calculated not at the beginning of the process but at the invoice level. So your buyers will always see the same price regardless if there's VAT or not. For some sellers that enable this, this means that it's adviced to increase your prices with the VAT percentage you usually charge.

3: Sell without VAT in all cases (this is similar to how Afternic does it). No traces of VAT will be shown on any of your for sale pages, emails and invoices. It's your responsibility then to handle the VAT if applicable in your own jurisdiction.

As a German seller I'd highly advice to opt for option 1 since we'll then add the VAT on top of your asking price which yields you NET more revenue. And German buyers are used to VAT so they won't even mind.

actually undeveloped have Good landing pages, and when I visit I feel comfortable with their color , themes, background and etc! but there is 1 problems, I don't like the DNS setting, because if I want to list with them, I have to set my domain DNS to them! and because of that reason, I can't create email and do outbound!

I really hope undeveloped can make(option) Landing page without DNS setting just like SEDO or GOdaddy, so when visitor type in my domain, I redirect to undeveloped landing page, but on the other hand, I still do outbound! and create email from my hosting! :xf.grin:

I am sure some people (domain seller) still want do outbound, because without outbound, it will take a very very long time just to sell 1-2 domain! and also I heard undeveloped payment very fast to our paypal, and only takes 1-2 hours! meanwhile when I deal with SEDO, payment.withdrawl can take more than 7 days! :xf.grin:

Just add the domain to your portfolio. But do not change the nameservers.
Your domain will be displayed in the portfolio as not parked. But landing page will work like a

Hi Harrist,

Although it's not adviced, you can also park with us using the A-records. Set the following IP-Address as a record to resolve our landing pages: 52.58.78.16

Do note that if for whatever reason we'd have to change that IP-address, that your for sale pages will not resolve unless you update the records timely. That's why it's preferred to park using our Nameservers.

Hope this solves your problem!

Kind regards,

Reza

The white domain color on sale page is blend into background. If I haven’t visited any undeveloped domain page for a while, it’s a little bit hard to locate the domain. Took me like 3sec to find where the domain is. Kind of confusing. Could we enable the green color to the domain to make it pop out?

Is there anyway to get the domain name to fit the page a little better? for my long tail domains they end up looking like.
