question How much do you make on a parked premium domain?

I've always been curious as to how or why domain parking is the go to method for most domainers.

Can someone share some success stories?

I stumble across six figure domains all the time that are just parked.

Most of my parked domains with SEDO make $0. Some even generate 150 or so views a month with a monthly revenue that can be rounded to 0.

I collect $200 per month, have SEO directing people to my domains, and have for sale links on top and bottom of each page, that link to my landing pages. Get lots of offers and closed sales via my landing pages.

The point is...that it works.

yes i tried parkingcrew bodis sedo and bodis..I used above.com to switch btw all of them...you need to manually switch them to other parking sites and have an account with that parking...
.some names do better on certain parking than others for whatever reason...but if your making $5 a month on bodis you probably wont make $100 somewhere else.
$5 a month on one parking translated to maybe $15 a month on the best...sometimes my domains spike in traffic and make $50 per month but then back to $3 the next......
However....I dont buy any type in traffic names....i only buy a name that i think can be sold if it made zero rev one day from parking...type in traffic domain is its own art...just not my art...

some members here swear by parking and the numbers above are impressive....but again i dont focus on mis spelling of credit bank and pharma names...but personally i made 1000 times more connecting them to sales pages and selling and rebuying more expired names with profits...with about 200 names I made $12 parking a month with some names like heated.com and awaits.com and smartdrones...recently last 6 months....i have been selling one domain every other month for btw 1200 and 7k
Feb 2018 dazed / beauty in king sold for $1200
Dec 2017 ad /stash in king for for $2500
paid under $200 for both...
when i parked I sold 1 name every other year...I love the buy, hunt and resell game but again thats just me..

You are 100% right. The message should be very clear, straightforward and upfront without any distractions , ads , medium pages or interruptions that this domain(,,,,,dot whatever) is for sale . I still wonder why some market places still place ads allover the landing page of the domain, with a small link leading to another page ! The interesting thing is that there still many many interested people in the domain who actually type in the domain but still think that actually the domain is taken , and IF they notice the tiny "this domain for sale " link above or below the many ads they would still be hesitant to proceed because they would simply assume that :" Well, this is clearly an active site with "revenue-generating ads", I doubt owner would be motivated or even serious to sell it"... I actually heard that from people I meet and talk business with every day!

I have some domains that pay for themselves parked. I have a domain on sedo $35 Euro a year most make cents. I have a few adult parked that pay for them selves. I make more referring traffic with blog content some a few hundred a year. You will always make money if you can be your own end user even if it isn't your vision for the domain.

If you are into domains and doing full time than this is the right way to earn some profits through parking and also it helps to make and close some good deals.

I've recently managed to find a couple expired .net names with decent traffic, much more than most of my 100++ .com, one .net which is on track to pay for itself (hopefully more) and the other might have some potential.

One expired .com payed for itself in two weeks though has since trailed off.

Surprisingly, a hyphenated .com is seeing nice returns, for instance yesterday almost $4 from 3 searches.

I'll take what I can get. Every little bit helps, anyone who claims otherwise can go pound sand IMO.

Was there a method in picking these names? Or are there otherwise good domains which just accidentally happened to be good parking?

It can be very hit or miss, but I have found some expireds on GoDaddy showing good traffic. But a word of caution, some of those stats can also be misleading (not accurate or possibly bot traffic, etc.).

My one hyphenated name was very unexpected traffic wise so a nice bonus.

I regged an insurance domain which, according to one website, had over 6k hits over thr last 7 days. It seemed to be too good to be real and it is...so far 0 hits.
I also regged one with 1,6 mil backlinks; no hits either.

That would be very disappointing in both cases! Unfortunate.

I have registered about 10 domains with backlinks and forwarded them to several clickbank affiliate offer pages. In report I see >10000 hops/week, but no clicks and sales. Then I forwarded most of them to Bodis and I saw 2-5impressions/day from all of them. So it looks like, almost all of that traffic is useless, as it never actually opens up destination page with ads.
What I see is that all best expired domains with good quality backlinks get dropcought, but I am not ready to pay more than regfee for such risk... maybe that is problem(n).
Will try with some mistyped domains...

yes more or less.. that is the problem.
many people sell trafik domains that make money for good money... usually for anywhere from 1 to 5 years of revenue... so if domain made them 100$ last year.. they may sell it for $100 to $500 for example.. some ask even more.. but your unlikely to find them for less on reseller market.. even here on namepros sometimes u can see them sold.. so this alone tells you that it takes more than just paying regfee for some random expired domains where you just sort them by the backlinks column or cpc column etc.

but its certainly doable.. with a lot of effort and time learning and looking.... just be aware you are not the only one looking etc.. but.. like everything in life, the more time you devote to something, the better your chance of success... no quick solutions in domainings I'm afraid.. whether its selling or parking domains.

cheers.

My domain names generate ZERO revenue from the Paking, be it Godaddy or Sedo. This is big waste, in fact we promote them instead of we benefit from Paking. Next option should be that we have to demand a certain fixed amount for parking.

The domain has business Keyword. I leave all of the domains on auto-opt. In that case I dont even land on my parked domains, firstly they can optimize better without me LOL and I am all the time affraid I would accidently Click something...
