While recovering from the past weekend of scattered deals and in anticipation of the next SuperSale, I am weary of having several threads related to the SuperSales at Domain - MyDomain - NetFirms - Dotster.

Since the promos often work at more than one reseller, I would love to have a single thread to watch and participate in, if you agree, hang out here and watch this thread!

All NPers are welcome to post coupons and promos here as long as they are Domain - MyDomain - NetFirms - Dotster. That way we all have a better chance at awesome savings as soon as the promos are live!

The usernamex Guide to SuperSales

SuperSales are promotions done by the family of registrars under Domain.com, including MyDomain.com NetFirms.com Dotster.com

About every 10 days to two weeks, one or more of these registrars runs what I like to call SuperSales - with dot COM / NET domain registrations for bargain prices, $1.99 - $2.99 - $3.99. Sometimes the specials are good for multi-year registrations, sometimes only the first year is discounted.

The super fun part is they let you use coupons ON TOP of the promo, so there have been specials as low as $1.39, $1.59 is more common, and $1.99 is still great any time!

If you are new, the best choice is usually MyDomain, since their renewals are second best (to Domain) and I have not seen the $1.99 special ever offered at Domain direct

A great way to get an account set up is NOT during the frenzy of the SuperSales, and a trick you can use without having to contact support is to buy the easiest to type/remember cheapest domain you can, like whatever ngTLD is on sale for $1.99, that will be your username. You can drop the domain after a year and your account will be fine. Otherwise get on chat and they can set you up ahead of time without having to make a purchase.

To make it easy for everyone, if you can BOLD any coupon codes, that would be super, and if you tested coupons successfully, please mention the reseller where you tested.

@Jv1999 @googli @Perceptron as I said above, LEGEND not works for transfer at Domain.com, MyDomain and Dotster. Only at Netfirms, good for both new registrations and transfer.

I transferred about 20 odd domains a while ago and it worked fine... Although, I used the transfer manager from the control panel to transfer the domains

I did notice the same as you experienced @daica85 , usually that is how I test if coupons are working for transfers without being logged in, and it does not work for NetFirms, and works just fine for Domain/MyDomain/Dotster

Makes me sad when people get upset with support, they have been wonderful for me, yesterday support had to remove 22 of my domains, one at a time, for me to do the transfers, took over 10 minutes, I was sure to thank him for his diligence and patience.

For some reason I was rushing because I thought the promo ended in four hours and there's an entire day left! This is nice that this promo has a definitive time frame.

ALSO, some of the domains I removed from my account were already expired and there was no issue with removing them, I did make sure to have them UNLOCKED and no privacy before asking support for removal.

Very interesting is I received a Past Due Renewal Reminder email for some that were already removed, not yet transferred, so they are still in the system, just not showing, this is good to know they are keeping up with encouraging you to renew so you won't accidentally forget a domain. It appears they give you 3, 7, 10 days past due, then that is it, is this correct? My new cutoff is 28 days if I am really on the fence about to renew or not.

Yes. The last notice Domain.com gives is the 10 days past due email.

You're saying that we can transfer between sister companies even after expiration, but that we have to have chat remove the domains first? Why can't we remove them ourselves?

Yes, I transferred expired domains from MyDomain to NetFirms yesterday. To remove active or expired domains from your account requires support - it used to be available to users but they changed it quite a while ago as a security measure.

You're right on both counts. The domain still belongs to you, is registered to you, it simply isn't in your account at the moment. And right about the reminders as well.

You may go to live chat support and ask for new account registration. That's what i did before when i was tryng to register new account at domain.com.

This way I just tested for creating account without support and without purchase

1] Enter an Existing Domain Name which can be a real domain you own or something made up entirely
2] Click "Add Now"
3] UNCHECK any addons they offer on the upsell page and click "Continue"
4] Fill in your account information, and you have to enter a valid payment method, however nothing will be charged, the total is zero
5] Wait for the welcome email that allows you to set your password

This option you enter a domain name and that becomes your username AND it does NOT actually have to be a domain name that exists, however you will have the domain extension tacked on to the end of your username, like this example the domain I made up is nfnewaccount.com so the username will become nfnewaccountcom

Add: Also, only 5 out of the 7 domains (4 .info-s, 1 .net, 2 .org-s) got onto my checkout page - reaching it from RegistrarTransfer. The 2 .org-s simply aren't added to my cart - odd.

don't worry if you miss this
50% at crappy transfer fee like netfirms ($10) means its only $5 after discount

whereas at other places its 8.3$ transdfer.. so you apply any common 20% or so coupon to that and your down to almost $6.. no big difference.

but yeah.. good deal! just regular netfirm transfer price of $10 makes it less good than it could be!

i will do my best to transfer some things.. but will not spend my whole saturday on this for few dollars savings over their firly common and frequent 15-25% coupons at dotster/domain.com for transdfers... which pretty much take you down to $6.

@domaineng - yes as @alcy said this offer is COM only - the NetFirms transfer glitch has ONLY ever worked for COM and NET in the past anyway, and a few weeks ago the NETs weren't working at all, even registrations : grin :

If you are not in a hurry with expirations you can wait for the next 25% coupon and the transfer prices are still pretty good. $6.22 for COM ORG BIZ INFO US and $6.94 for NET
We see the 25% coupons maybe 2-3 times per month.
