It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just received my 18th inquiry this year...
And as it was a few times before - LLLL again...

A 4 letter word or LLLL (denotes generic 4 letter combination)? Just looking for a little more specificity. Was it an abbreviation or acronym?

Both types...
I had inquiries on 4L-words and on generic 4L like CVCV as well...

+ many of generic 4L-endusers were shown by me in this thread...
If you need even more - then WHOIS-research will be very helpful...

In 2016 most inquiries for me were from the USA...
This year Russia is leading again...

This is nice but has minimal impact or even 0...

If still lack of support from GoDaddy Auctions platform...

This Russian company (non-Moscow) said that $1K is reasonable price and they will contact me after their final decision...

Accessibility.pro recently registered by end user AccessOntario.com.

I dropped it earlier this year, reg'd it for my brother when I told him I had a couple good .pro names a while back. He had thought about starting an accessibility blog/consulting project but got too busy with work and a growing family. I debated renewing it to keep but looks like it found a good home after all. :)

It is very easy to drop...
And very hard to catch then... at least in 90% of cases...

p.s. I drop something only when budget is limited to keep them all...

Jurgen, I'm not so sure I understand what you mean by minimal or zero impact.

Minimal/~0 impact on aftermarket...
And regarding reg volume - as well...

Well I think the guy that posted GoDaddy.pro was following your lead on posting web sites that have adopted the .pro extension.

Looks like pretty important news to me. The biggest domain reseller in the world, has adopted .pro Over 1000 extensions yet its the pro they chose to work with.

I agree with you not much after market impact but as far as adoption goes, this is very big news.
I'm sure we will see many write ups on the Domainer Blogs who always enjoyed talking and writing about the merits of the pro extension.

Thanks for all your posts Jurgen.... you have been the majority of this thread the last couple of years. A lot of people are watching. Great work.

This was just one more reminder from me that .PRO is still (since 2004) unsupported by GoDaddy's aftermarket...
Nobody can sell it there...
And reasons are unknown still... is it so hard for GoDaddy or something else???

These nTLDs are allowed at GoDaddy Auctions:
.PRODUCTIONS
.PROMO
.PROPERTIES
.PROPERTY
.PROTECTION

But .PRO (classical gTLD) - no.

Paradox...
Or some kind of discrimination...

As we know, the domain name space grows stronger as more domains/websites are registered, purchased, developed.

The Godaddy sponsorship of ABC show "Steve Harvey's Funderdome" should positively benefit the domain space (in general) including promotion of domain names, the use of domain names and web services by small businesses.

Here is the link the Godaddy press release that I saw about the ABC show.
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...dome-premiering-june-11-on-abc-300466830.html

It's likely that combination of shows like Funderdome and promotion of website development services at the Godaddy.pro website will do a lot to increase awareness of the .pro TLD as wells as gTLDs, etc.

My interest in .pro has been less concerned with investment and more with development.

Regarding TLD "discrimination" -- There is a disturbing amount of negativity throughout the domain name space that is directed at nearly anyone who steps 1 inch off the .com path. It takes a lot of independent or contrarian thinking to pursue opportunities in the .pro space let alone any non- .com space.

Fortunately, this .pro thread functions to promote the .pro TLD as an investment or space to develop websites.

Nobody can buy .PRO via GoDaddy... for many many years...
They can only register the available domains... and only since March'2016...

And that's why Russian endusers are leading here...

Freak
Primary
Fore
Mingle
Soma

Dazzle

I also have noticed that average traffic on my .PROs is significantly higher this year than it was in 2016...
~1.5-2 times or even more...
Especially since Spring...

FLIRT.PRO - not just 2004, but also SUNRISE-domain...
