Hi all,

Your friendly neighbourhood domain registrar here, just wanting to let you all know that, for a limited time and while "stocks" last, all .COM registrations and transfers at AlpNames.com are only $4.99 - and there are no volume limits. :)

Cheers,

Team AlpNames

@Avtar629 - As mentioned, we do not like leaving anyone feeling that they did not receive the service that they expected. In order to better understand what happened and what your experience was, please feel free to PM this account with some details. I can assure you that it will be looked into.

@hemirate - Regrettably, it would seem that this particular user failed to update his thread...our system shows that he regained access to his account shortly after creating the thread that you refer to and that he was able to register many more domains over the subsequent months. As I did not work for AlpNames at the time and given that we have since upgraded our support system, it is unclear whether we were able to assist this particular customer, or whether he figured out the issue for himself. However, I can confirm that his account was never deleted, as claimed.

When dealing with a new registrar, it's always a good idea to test before going all in! Like trying out by transferring one or two domains only, to learn the process and find out about any quirks.

. . . I would suggest that if anyone has a large number of domains that they are wishing to purchase or transfer, they reach out to our support team first ([email protected]) - they will be more than happy to check the current state of the promo and provide assurances, as necessary. Thousands shouldn't be an issue. ;)

@CakeCode - has there been no response by ticket or email yet? Yesterday I used chat at ~02:00 UTC so a couple hours from now, if you wanna live bump your issue.

thank for the coupons, I used it to transfer a few domains I was going to let expire but for $4-$5 it was worth keeping them and my girlfriend was happy too as I gave them to her for her to look after :-0

Privacy is 99 cents for all extensions, which while not free, is super cheap

Also just to point out for those of us who transfer hop to save money,, @AlpNames COM renewal is ONLY $8.75 so there's no sticker shock gotcha next year, unlike most other transfer deals.

also .info's are on special for a couple of dollars I see too so I will try to transfer a few I have in next few days and see if it works for transfers as .info renewals can be costly sometimes?

I have account with @AlpNames and they have been stellar, great support, no hassles, I do prefund to minimize paperwork.

Using LogicBoxes Control Panel, which for me is great as I have used it for many many years.
I just want to be sure there is not an extra transfer out fee to hold us hostage there.

We don't believe in shady practices!!! In fact, we often receive requests to expedite transfer outs and, if it's in our power to do so, we will always help.

To be clear, we do NOT charge a transfer out fee.

Hey CakeCode - I have spoken to our support team and they confirm that they have been helping you with the transfer process today. :)

The updates that ICANN made to the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy in December have added extra complexities to the transfer process that are causing headaches for quite a few people - us included! The best thing that anyone that is experiencing difficulties can do, is to contact our support team and ask for help...if they are able to help, they will!

Hey Alpnames

Sorry I was wrong and take back my earlier comments.

Yup I am working with your team , though lot of emails to send back and forth for domain transfer, but they are prompt and efficient.

So far the experience has been really great.

Good job guys. look forward to transfer more domains, I wish you had the same offers for even .net and .org domains - I couldn't have relied on the other registrars.

Mass transfer from multiple registrars is tedious, so far I have no issues on @AlpNames side - it's the LOSING registrars holding up the show, and I appreciate that this special will last a bit so I am not rushed and frantic - I have some from BF/CM I am days away from the 60 day mark LOL

Yes the ICANN deal is a PITA - one thing I have run into on the LOSING registrars side is if you are removing privacy before transfer, make sure whatever registrar you are using does NOT treat this as a change of registrant, so far NameSilo and NameCheap both have AUTO opt-out (they act as designated agent automatically) and name.com you have to enable the opt-out for your entire account first. GoDaddy has their stupid 60 day lock that they always had with no option to opt-out anyway. Domain/MyDomain/NetFirms/Dotster is opt-out with a check box HOWEVER I think I accidentally unchecked it when I was doing bulk change a while ago so be aware.

@CakeCode - we can edit a week in coupon sub forum so you can actually edit your post above if you like and I am glad you are getting it all sorted

@AlpNames - do you have regularly scheduled chat hours and if so could you share them here?
