The attack of the new g haters, love it! :xf.wink:

Is reality, are facts, it's not a religion, it's not a war newgtld lovers VS newgtld haters.
If you don't understand this simple point it's not our problem.
Invest in .gdn, we talk about it in few years.

Here is a list of top .gnd sales. I.bet .top can .top this list https://namebio.com/?s=wN2gDO4YTO
LOL

Really what's the difference on a business card? I have no problem in a friendly debate but everyone so far is just brand and portfolio protection kind of replies...
Would you use a .gdn for your business ? For real ? If you cannot answer yes, you (and others) shouldn't be investing in .gdn in the first place. It's called the confidence test.

But maybe I can outline my thoughts better.
TLDs are brands. .com is a brand too. It is the brand of global commerce.
New extensions like .online .club .tech .blog .guru etc are semantically relevant, even if people are puzzled about new extensions, at least the TLD needs no explaining. Extensions should enhance/complement/reinforce the brand (left of the dot). .GDN brings no added value at all to your brand/company name.

For example investors.club makes sense, shopping.online makes sense, advanced.tech makes sense.
On the other hand a .gdn domain never makes any sense because the TLD is totally superfluous.

Of course you'll never see serious, meaningful sites on a meaningless extension like that. Almost all other extensions are better/less worse.

PS: same opinion about .xyz: a silly extension.

The same reason you offer multiple cctlds for sale I guess.

I can provide examples but don't want to go there unless you'd like.. :xf.wink:

websites and thus domain names only exist because the technology behind them exists but there are still quite a few businesses that refuse to have a website at all and obviously no need for any domain name because they use the traditional method of that thing called good old fashioned customer service word of mouth and talking to their customers etc it worked for years but many people if finding a new service online would prefer to click on their country cctld with the exception of possibly .com and unless a person is familiar with gtlds etc like we are many won't recognise many or any of the new gtlds

it might be a good idea to offer a part time eg half day course in local areas etc over a coffee etc just helping those who want to get better acquainted with how to recognise a new gtld and show them how to find a gtld domain

you should have saved that money for a good .fail

Investing in .fail has many advantages, for example you don't need to check your mailbox for end-user inquiries. They won't happen. When the expiration is approaching you don't have to think about whether or not it is worth keeping, the answer is always no. As a .fail investor you don't have to worry about paying taxes, you will always lose more than you earn.

Nice post Kate. And yes, .xyz looks so unprofessional, spammy and is very very useless. .gdn is probably even worse as it is just a 'bunch of letters'. Great way to kill a brand name and brand message that might have taken months of research to come up with.

I personally do not feel so much this extension, as I do not see a natural, semantic meaning of it.

I think, however, that it might be suitable for investing in short domains, up to 3L/4N domain names. if one can buy them cheap..purely because of Chinese investors, and their interest in short domains.

Attack? Anyone disagree's with you its an attack.

Untrue..

Is reality, are facts, it's not a religion, it's not a war newgtld lovers VS newgtld haters.

Unfortunately most new g threads are all derailed with this type of chatter..

LOL

I prefer thinking outside the box, not just inside the box.

This is exactly what I've done within this extension. No big investment on my part..

I'm still buying .com domains too, it is still the king to date and I understand that.

.gdn for a $1 .com 99 cents. A slight on the current value of the "king" ;)

This extension may have potential in the plant type businesses or pot craze as short for "garden"
I don't see the China potential yet, they could come up with a universal meaning thou. they have been creative!
If I have to think that hard then there are so many others with much higher potential for years to come.
Happy Hunting!
Merry Christmas!

I found 2 reported sales, (jumped to the end, already mentioned multiples times)

revenue.gdn - $1
http://dnpric.es/?q=.gdn

adjf.gdn - $150
https://namebio.com/?s=gNyYzM5YTO

It's generic but one of the worst based on any metric you would use

Never said it was the best but one never knows from day to day what might happen.

I mean heck the Jags beat the Titans today, our QB is probably out for the year. Did I think that would happen, hell no! :xf.wink:
