Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship

Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
All these freshregs will be very useful a year later. You will drop them, saving $8 on renew for each. Then you will use the "saved" money for purchasing more valuable domains.

Perhaps learning the hard way is something every domainer needs to go through early on :stop:

I hold my hands up. I f**ked up there. Oops!

Not gonna be doing the hard sell in on a registered trademark even though I think it is a little ambiguous.

But I did get an idea for another .com which is equally as good but not a trademark so I'm quite happy the process led me to it.

Yes, in my opinion you are still banging your head against the wall.

Fashion weeks serve multiple purposes. One of which is to see and be seen. Those that are part of the industry want to be there so they aren't going to blow it off because it's just as easy to "experience" it sitting at their desk via PPV.

As far as the general public goes, I think they are interested in primarily in seeing the "glamour" and the stars. Unfortunately fashion weeks involve a lot of less than interesting activity, spread over a variety of venues and days, that gets condensed down to a few reportable bits of hype/news for consumption by the public at large. (Though the trade publications will also discuss more of the business side of things.)

Maybe the organizing groups of these events might have a little interest in these domains but I'm not picturing the general public having a big interest in these - at least in the foreseeable future.

Again, my opinion...

That's the way you and the public see it. Fashion shows are so much more to the mainstream fashion designer. They are a source of Ideas. People pay very good money just know what colours are in vogue for that season.

It's not actually something amazing because it was a portfolio of about 190 VR domains, someone from NP community got it :) great buy IMO.

LondonFashionweekVR
ParisfashionweekVR
VRlondonFashionWeek
VRParisFashionWeek

Is this the kind of thing you've been talking about as viable VR domains or am I still banging my head against a brick wall?

Who is going to buy LondonFashionweekVR from you? I can only think of 1 potential customer in the entire universe - the LondonFashionweek organizers. That's a pretty limited customer base. And they don't even need it because they can just add a VR section to their current site.

Before regging any more domains ask yourself:

1 Why will this domain make money for its owner?
2 How many potential customers are there?
3 Are there any better options for them out there?

And when you realize that the answer to question number 3 is "yes" you contact the owner of that domain and ask to buy it.

I know it's addicting to handregg domains. But you have to admit to yourself that you are too late for that. I started this 2 years ago and I wish I had been quicker. Since then people have been regging hundreds of VR names every day. Seriously, there is really nothing left apart from extreme long shots.

I really believe there's still a few out there.

I'm just picked up VRFanzine, com on a hand reg and although it might not make a million I'll sure make something on it.

You might consider GD expired auctions. Far better names end up at auction fairly regularly, and often for just a few bucks more than regfee.

Correct , plus names on namepros auctions now are also better then current regfees.

not seen a good hand reg name for ages on here

It's getting harder to find quality names. These last two years have registered thousands of them. Here I leave a combo that can be interesting

I already mentioned it earlier in this thread. In spanish 'factory' is fábrica. And in my city have opened in a shopping center this 'virtual reality factory'.

I paste the link in case it serves as a guide.

Good hunting.

Sometimes!

Be selective, otherwise it's no different than made up handreg junk. It's just somebody else's rubbish creations.

Many noobs reg rubbish names then try a quick flip to other rookie domainers after only a couple weeks of posting Google articles with same or similar keywords.

Be mindful of the pump and dump in these threads and you should do well.

'Many noobs', or just most people when they start.

Some ppl read the forum for 6-12 months then start posting once they have content of value to share (out-of-respect for the forum). If there is a best 'code-of-practice' re this PM me, every forum is different. Thanks.

'Most people' would probably be more accurate phrasing. We all have rubbish names at some point, myself included.

Bad names is an unavoidable part of the handreg game as it is, but often worse for newer domainers. Just be mindful of the pump and dump when buying from forums, IMO.
