Started a series called Brandable Daily Sales Analysis and would like to share some useful discoveries.
Lets now dive in.

First would be Fitalytics (dot) com

Note the following.

Registration Date: 2010-06-02

Month of Sale: 2016-05

Domain Length: 10 Characters

Domain History:

As you can see the current nameserver from the image suggests that the domain was recently added to brandbucket marketplace. Also that the domain was first registered back in 2008 although the current registration date is 2010-06-02 We can also see that it’s very likely that the domain has changed hands prior its sale on brandbucket.

Other Extensions : 1 other extensions has been taken

Google Popularity: On Google first page results it has 9 similar mentions excluding where domain is brandbucket. The most interesting part is that the name “Fitalytic” was mentioned on CrunchBase. We can conclude that it’s Google Popularity is strong.

Social Handles: It’sTwitter has been taking since 2012. The Facebook handle has also been taken.

Dictionary Keywords: Fit, and Italy.

Brandbucket Sold Keyword: Aly Example of sold domain that contain such keyword dailydealy.com .

Other Keywords: Taly, Alytic, Aly

Similar End User Domain currently in use: talytics.com This simply suggests some trends from the word Alytic.

No disrespect but using that logic, why is RebelPulse.com on BrandBucket ? Pulse has several trademarks.

Rebel and Fox being tm'ed violate nothing when combined together. It's simply a made up name of two separate words.

Justin please try to understand the subject better before jumping in.

For example - kayak might be trademarked (I have not checked) for their travel comparison site.

This does not mean that a shop called kayakboating would be infringing on the trademark.

It is all about the use of the site \ shop.

I mean, think of it this way, a site called amazonforest would be totally fine offering trips to the amazon forest, but not trying to sell goods and services under the class of amazon.

Of course, it is far more complicated than that, but I hope you can see the 'use' case.

BrandBucket accepts not so great names, and rejects good names every week. It's a matter of preference. The subjective nature of brandable domain names.

I can't think of anyone that would build a business on thousands of BrandBucket names. There are so many things that factor into why someone picked a domain name.

Think it might be the luck of the draw as to who is reviewing the names. I have too had some (what I considered) very good names rejected. Then when you see what is accepted, sometimes even in the featured section, it really makes you wonder.

i wasn't implying BB rejected the name based on TM issues. It was rejected because they felt it would never sell on BB.

"RebelFox" is a good/creative name. It implies confronting the status quo in a clever way.

Suggestion - the best way to learn about trademarks is to apply for one. Unlike patents which require an attorney license, applying for a federal trademarks (and service mark) with the USPTO does not require the applicant to be a licensed attorney.

FYI - Trademarks are for products, service marks are for processes/services.

I have personally applied for (and received) 1 trademark and 2 service marks several years ago. No, I am not an attorney, but can follow directions. It can be done online and is a terrific learning experience. Not only will you learn about trademark terminology, you will also have a better awareness (and respect for) branding and the branding process.

This insight comes in handy when thinking about "brandables" and their application.

I hope the info is helpful for those considering the "brandables" market.

ps: This afternoon I searched USPTO and see no federally registered trademark for the term "Rebel Fox", however, when searching online (via Google Search) I observed several references to "Rebel Fox Farms" and "Rebel Fox Films". I mention this as if one of these entities decides to file a trademark (service mark) application down the road, their "1st use in commerce" for the term has already been established. They likely are a DBA "doing business as" entity at the State level via a state registered "trade name". "Trademark" is federal, "trade name" is local per state. These are issues to consider when branding nationally.

ps: An afterthought... another topic to consider is what is the "IC" class that you are intending to mark as "Rebel Fox". Meaning, is the product/service you are marking in a different class than someone else who already has a registered trademark. For example, an "Apple" branded toothpick (flavored toothpick) is not in conflict with an "Apple" branded computer.
