Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
@Joe Styler Do you think GD Auctions can remain competitive charging 20% (I know it goes down from mid-XXXX$, but most domains go for less), when NJ charges 15%, Sedo charges 10-15%, Flippa charges 10%?

@tonecas , do you think the owners of above sold LLLL.coms don't know about NP? They net around $250 to $270 for most on NJ, they could have easily sold them for $10-30 higher net here on NP. Or is it a hope to get an end user sale at an auction?
Simple answer is yes I do.

There is a much longer answer which is look at what your objectives are and what the company you are selling the names at does to line up with those objectives. Although the places mentioned are marketplaces they are not really apples to apples, each has its own focus and strengths and weaknesses for a particular business mode.

GoDaddy/Afternic has a giant network of places to show your domain for sale.

We advertise and draw customers to the site to look up domains. You can google how much we spend to bring customers to the site, it's a lot and that money brings eyeballs to our domain search which is where your domains are listed.

Afternic partners with other companies to get your domain name displayed such as Network Solutions, HiChina, and hundreds of other partners.

If you have a domain name you want to get in front of as many end users as possible consider the options.

If you have a pre-negotiated deal with someone who contacts you via the whois then probably none of the options mentioned above are your best bet. You need to think through what your business plan is and what company best helps you to make the biggest return on investment for your plan.

@Joe Styler thank you for the prompt answer.

However, I did not mean Afternic/GD sales.

GD could reduce % ONLY for marketplace auctions with low/no reserve/starting price. This auction listings don't show up on your network and you don't have to share your commission with anyone.

We do still have to pay various advertising and development costs. On top of this we are working towards a simplified model that reduces friction in the marketplace part of this strategy is having one commission price point no matter where, how your domains are listed, this allows us to easily promote them in as many places as possible and give you the same net profit. We do look at commissions carefully and are always considering things.

@Joe Styler

GoDaddy/Afternic has a giant network of places to show your domain for sale.

in my experience that is only partly true

I added my domain
adulthoster.com
to afternic for buy now

now as was expecting large exposure
for example at godaddy

and right:

if somebody searches for

"adult hoster "

it will show

but thats my domain name anyway
so I will most likely get this buyer as type in

and but it won't show for

"adult host"
or
"adult hosting"

which is really poor in my view

so basically only people searching for the domain anyway
will see the domain proposal

that to me is not good engought to pay 20% commission
and I won't use this sales channel

So, basically, what @frank-germany is proposing is adding into your development task for future GD site to check for related premium names to suggest to a buyer, if the one they searched is not available.

Lsjl.com sold on Monday when the market was at its lowest bottom.

As usual, Sedo reports the sales late and this every time adds to the confusion of moving prices.

Clearly, the prices are recovering from the lows, albeit slowly.
