Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Ermm, I just registered CalifornianPot(.)com. Isn't that worth something too?

I would say it has marginal value.

Due to the recent sale if you say put it at 200$ it 'may' sell. domain.

CaliforniaPot.com vs. CalifornianPot.com -- yeah. Unfortunately, the one letter makes a big difference here. Generally Californian refers to a person, and sounds awkward as an adjective for things from California. Think of things California has been famous for--The California Raisins, Real California Milk, California Avocados, etc.

I realize it makes little sense when considering AmericanPot.com would be more appropriate than AmericaPot.com, imo. Best of luck though, I hope I'm wrong.

States with legal recreational right now are Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Colorado.

States with rumors of having it on the 2016 Ballot:

Hawaii
California
Arizona
Nevada
Missouri
Michigan
Ohio
Massachusetts
Maine

Care to share any info?
I won't share the actual names that I've sold, as last time I shared a name I was getting spam within 5 minutes. The whois hadn't even updated yet, so the NPer emailed me, thinking I was the buyer. I have a couple of repeat buyers, and would rather keep them to myself as much as possible. Selfish, I know. ;)

What I will share is that I'm getting more inquiries on Cannabis names than marijuana/weed/hemp names. Moved 4 or 5 names in this niche the past couple of months, and most of them were Cannabis (one was weed). If it helps, I don't sell names for anything less than high $xxx, and I have very few names I would sell for less than $xxxx.

I'm getting a fair amount of inquiries on geo names as well, so that's definitely something to keep an eye on.

I'm trying my best to keep PotNames.com updated, and forward each of my pot domains to my main site. My traffic is pretty steady at 1000-1200 uniques per month, which may not sound like a lot, but it has driven my inquiries up.

Here is one that just closed a couple of days ago:

Sweet spot seems to be from $1200-2500. If you have a portfolio and are getting no inquiries, you may want to rethink things. If you have a portfolio of decent names, you should be getting more $300-500 offers than you can shake a stick at.

Oh yeah, and Godaddy expired auctions are your friend.

Pot names are great

What if legalization doesn't happen for another 10 years?

That's why domains are still a big risk as an investment if you put more than reg fee to a domain.

Could be wrong but will see!

They better do something because Vapes are kicking their asses. Even though it was a fake story, Phillip Morris should get on those Malboro M's.

I just registered from a drop Marijuanalize.com

I think it would make a great brandable for a marijuana company in a few years when there is more deregulation of marijuana. This could be a great medical marijauna food company that uses marijuana as a main ingredient for pain relief?
