This post is off-topic and antagonistic. Members who post content like this will be warned and/or banned.
Appalling is the fact that Namepros doesn't feel the need to chastise the thread's original post for not including the disclaimer that Flippa allows its employees to bid at Flippa auctions. That seems like a substantial, reasonable step that would go a long way helping Namepros members PROPERLY digest the propaganda pushed forward in the name of "reported sales."

If you were heavily invested in .US, you would would be upset too.

If you look at his posts, 90%+ is basically:

Flippa and employees allowed to bid

Snapnames and their employee shill bidding many years ago

Sometimes mentioning a former GD employee bidding on auctions

TV is for Tuvalu, of course I haven't noticed that one in awhile, not sure if it was taken out of rotation, probably half the TV investors blocked him.

No point in reporting any of the posts, I believe he's developed advanced AI and controls this place, you'll get responses like, he's not harming anybody, not breaking rules, we'll keep an eye on it, we'll have a talk with him blah, blah.

So he's kind of like a fixture here at Namepros. You already know what the post is going to be. He's got heart. And maybe he helps in Flippa scrambling to get usernames over there.

Well, you don't seem to care much if Namepros members get the whole picture when it comes to the strategically-engineered quicksand pits in this business. I don't seem to recall any of your posts seriously chastising the real scoundrels in the business. Then a few years go by, allowing you to spew nonsense such as " ... shill bidding many years ago," as though 5 years is the same as 30 years. At least you're open and transparent about your loyalties. You've got that going for you.

Yes, I have reality going for me. I point out things that are accurate, current. It's 2015, not 2009. You're not really doing any good since you recommend that people stay away from the Aftermarket, where you get all the good domains. You just post the same crap, over and over again. You never can explain what some lone employee did many years ago has to do with any current auctions. You're just passing down your issues to newbies, which is actually hurting them. If you ever had something actually current, real, I would support you. But all you really do is throw around allegations and stuff about the past.

And what's with all the TV is Tuvalu stuff? You don't think domainers know that? Or anybody who sees TV will think TV? You purposely went into that section to troll them. Were you trying to help them too? Show me one person who felt that you did.

On a side note I see that Flippa is still not that great for MMJ/Cannabis/Hemp domains

You believe the Snapnames shill-bidding scandal was perpetrated by one lone employee? Because Snapnames said so? Haha! That's a good one JB! I must say you have chutzpah!

What does the Snapnames scandal have to do with "current auctions?" Well, the fact that at least one employee at Snapnames perpetrated the fraud, and that fraud totaled hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of dollars, and current auction platform(s) allow employees to bid stealthily in auctions which their employer controls, then I feel you are being disingenuous by brushing aside the potential for the wholesale screwing of auction participants, including your own Namepros members. Congratulations, you've demonstrated a substantial tolerance for potential auction shenanigans, perhaps to the detriment of Namepros members who participate in those auction and who buy the BS spewed by auction entities here.

You state you'd support me if I ever had "something actually current, real?" Puhleeze. You've been a cheerleader for, and extremely tolerant of those auction entities I consider ethically-challenged for as long as I can remember. The fact that you'd give Snapnames the time of day is ugly at mere face value.

I don't throw around "allegations" about the past, I throw around documented history about the past.

By the way, .TV stands of Tuvalu, according to ICANN, not "television." http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/tv.html

Anyway, I understand you must pay the bills any way you see fit. It's ultimately on your members to take care of themselves. I just like to know where the owners/operators of sites like Namepros stand on the relevant, current issues. Yes, I said "current issues." 'Cause they are.

What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?

I actually saved it for one last time. More for the new people here to remember next time you rant:

You believe something else but offer up............ oh, that's right, absolutely nothing besides your usual ranting. Then you follow with not telling about anything happening now. I think that, because that's what the evidence showed. He not once said it was Snapnames, you figure he would have offered them up when they sued his ass. I go with the information at hand (reality), you go with your imagination. Plus, we've been over this before, I know exactly who I'm bidding against at Snap, after awhile you begin to recognize everybody's nicknames.

Yes, all domainers know what .tv is from. To regular users, aka the audience of people that would visit the site, it's TV/television.

I think your anger towards .tv and that section and the members here making money with it, is you're mad you invested in .us and not .tv. What else can it be? In fact, it's Sales threads you're always popping up in. Flippa Sales, Weekly Sales, .TV sales, you can't stand seeing others get sales.

When I point out 90% of your posts are basically just a few items, you don't disagree, you can't because it's there for anybody to see. Nothing but anger and negativity. Like I said before, it's not the behavior of somebody doing good in this business. When is the last time you actually sold something? I know you can't be picking up any/that many good names if you have some fear of Snapnames, Namejet, GoDaddy Auctions of some constant wrongdoing. You're just limiting yourself. I think you said before you're more of a hobbyist anyway, so as far as advice goes, I lean more towards people that really do this.

But continue your rants, it's expected. I've accepted they're just going to be a part of the forum. It brings balance, Yin Yang type of deal, somebody has to fill the negative, you're just doing your part.

Flippa employees are allowed to bid on auctions??? Ridiculous if that is indeed true. I don't think I would ever participate if any online auction platform where employees are allowed to bid. Many reasons why casino employees aren't allowed to gamble where they work.

Think they're adding nicknames soon, so it will help in seeing who's bidding.

Brady was the head of IT, and I know for a fact that you have immense power in a position like that. You can see everything, do plenty of things that others can't. It can go on for a long time, you might just never get caught if you keep quiet. Just ask Snowden.
He was able to conceal his activities due to the trust he enjoyed, and his strategic position.

It is Snapnames who filed the complaint against their own employee. Strange behavior from a company that has something to hide. Why not give us some evidence of a conspiracy.

But hey I am sure you will call me out for being scammer-friendly, even though I was cheated too. And maybe JB was as well. Enjoy the name calling.

I decided to take a look but looks like all that happened before my time. Thought I started earlier but my first Snap purchase was 4/2012 and my first NJ purchase was 3/2012. I guess I was doing a lot of reg feein' like most people do at the beginning and more GD auctions.

Eyeballin it, looks like over half of them are at $69, me being the only bidder, about 200 purchases over there. The rest, I recognize the bidders. When I first started, I kept a spreadsheet of the nicknames and then later checked the whois of the people I lost to, since I wanted to know who I was bidding against. So in the 3 years I've been bidding over there, not once have I seen even a hint of something going wrong.

heynow - I do agree Flippa should have nicknames, more transparency and they said they're going to do that. Your ranting against Snap and NJ tho, I don't see anything at all, because again, I can see who I'm bidding against. Chances would be higher at a place like GD, since it's just a number I would be bidding against, I would have no idea who they are.

Yeah I didn't know this either. Disappointing news for sure. It will probably effect my decision to use Flippa in the future.

if that is indeed true

There is no " if ". They are allowed and the issue has been discussed many times here on NP but so fa no changes have been made to either forbid them to bid or at least make it public in the auction so that all the other bidders can see.
They are normally very slow at implementing changes.

You know nothing about my motivation. I deal in accuracy and facts, not baloney. I harbor no anger for .TV or any other extension. How silly of you to believe others are emotionally involved with an extension. Get a life dude.

I make a good living outside the realm of domaining. To watch the BS spewed by stakeholders and those who are trying to make a living sitting on their asses all day in front of the computer flipping domains is a real eye-opener in desperation, hype, and willingness to f--k newbies, including from those from third world countries, by keeping them ignorant of domain history, which includes fraud, hype, lies, and marketing campaigns not solely aimed at end-users.

You're a real piece of work "JB." A real piece of work.

I welcome Flippa staff to bid on any domain I put for sale. I am sure their money is as good as the next person.

As a Seller, of course you "welcome Flippa staff to bid on any domain ...." No downside for you there. Only the potential for the employees to drive up prices. What seller would object to that?

Of course buyers think differently. Perhaps potential individuals and companies who would otherwise be interested in buying your domain choose not to participate in auctions where the auctioneer's or auction platform's employees are bidding against them. I know at least one domain buyer who certainly would never bid in such an auction. So sellers who think the scheme is just wonderful are probably cutting their own throats. You'd be surprised how many domain buyers think auction employee bidding is a really sleazy, low way to go.

Firstly I am not aware that is a proven fact that Flippa staff bid on auctions solely to drive the prices up with no intention to make the purchase. If I am wrong kindly direct me to the source of this amazing revelation because that would be shocking if true.

Secondly, I think that anybody that would use the fact that there may be other bidders bidding against them to boycott an auction doesn't really understand auctions. A domain has a different value to different people and will sell for what the market says is the correct price on the day. (added by edit)

I try to bid below what I think something is worth, and I stop when the price goes above that number. What is the difference to the seller or the market if I win the auction or a domainer who also works for Flippa wins the auction? The transaction is still completed and the price is still recorded.

There is no last minute sniping allowed on the Flippa platform so they have no advantage over other bidders as far as I can see. They can still be outbid or forced to overpay same as anybody else.
