It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

I like encirca's price for .PRO Regs. However, is there a site that allows bulk name searches for .PRO? I could not find such an option on encirca, and GoDaddy does not provide .PRO Regs. Thanks in advance.

I do not have any, but there are indeed some great names left in the .PRO extension. Is there a better registrar for dot pro in your opinion? Also, it is my understanding .PRO requires a business license for the registration to take place. Is this still the case?

-Regards

Yes there are, I just picked up CarHire.pro - half a million searches per month and a $6 avg cpc.

Great name?

I wish voices of reason were permitted in this fantasy thread. News flash: No one from the 'outside World' considers this a great domain. You guys are flushing cash. Hello?

You guys need to get out of this thread more and discuss matters with objective, reasonable people. PLEASE!!! This comment will probably be deleted within a matter of hours but that type of censorship just feeds the detachment issues presented in this discussion. ((D-:))

Flushing cash? You probably spend more on a latte grande.

And what 'outside' world are you talking about? If big companies and traditional ad agencies still don't get domains, you think they're bothered about the extension?

All that matters is what you can do with the domain and believe me when I tell you, right of the dot slabs are a creation of domainers, not end users. It's easier to 'brand' a domain with a .com, but the crap you'll get now with the term carhire might make it an exercise in futility.

I don't see anything that has been deleted unless it personally attacks another individual, if you think the mod team has a vested interest in .pro, you're totally mistaken, hardly any of them even have one .pro

As for let's get 'objective', lets hear your exact reason why you think this particular registration was 'wastage' of cash, I'll provide you pointers on why it was not and maybe we can both learn something of significance, though you'll probably still not 'get' it, maybe someone else will.

Among others, I flipped a $9.99 name for $1475 in a week. I like the sound of that flush. I'm sorry that you got your clock cleaned putting all of your money in .TV but whether you like it or not Pros are selling ... to end users.

If you would like to see more end user sales please check this link. http://total.pro/pro_domain_sale_prices.php

Greg, you spend most of your time trying to discourage people. Please don't concern yourself with the Pro thread. We're all adults and most of us are making money. And even if we weren't, it's none of your concern. But thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind.

Yeah, I've been seeing this 100k figure off and on around the web.

Would really like to know what's going on. :)

Total .pros registered increased by 2.9% in November 2010 from 51,114 to 52,609. Domains registered by the Regional Network Information Center in Russia were up 53% from 1,698 to 2,598.

I take it your not buying that 100k+ figure. Regardless..the trend continues up with backing in Russia..which is all very good.

If you believe that Hostway suddenly got a block of 43,000 .pros registered, 100,000 .pros registered is possible. Having tried and failed to register .pros with Hostway over the years, I don't believe that. Growth in Russia is the more likely path to 100,000 .pros but I don't think the Russian registrar has gone from 2,598 to 50,000 in 3 months.

I think your figure of 52.61k is much more appropriate. I've been trying to get hostway to transfer .pros at their advertised 9.99 for several months now. Can you imagine a registrar that can't transfer a domain? Shouldn't that be part of registry 101!

No. I can't imagine a registrar that can't transfer a domain? And as far as I know you still can't download a simple list from EnCirca.

I think akcampbell has well proven through his sales history that there is a significant interest by business people who aren't having any problem paying 5K for a good .pro! I believe that a solid aftermarket is well underway here.

Otherwise the .pro registry continues to rev up with this news release.
They must have 100k in domains locked up somewhere to release this type of powerful statement.

The odd part, is that nobody within the domain community seems to be listening.
