You've been quietly building a very nice portfolio, congrads on this gem! And speaking of pulling the plug I just pulled the plug on Mafia.tv.

Big difference between pulling a plug and a trigger.....

Wouldn't call it a portfolio as yet. Atleast as compared to yours and few others here. You have got a nice portfolio from the other thread. Just have 6 .tv's: coaching.tv, exchange.tv, expose.tv, mock.tv, sri.tv and shri.tv (this one from quite a long time) and I think I am done for now. No more money in the vualt.

My want list keeps getting smaller as more names keep getting registered :) I just picked up Forecast.tv. I used to own it as a premium and now I own it as a non-premium :)

Soggy,
Loser.tv - great name!
Come back here and promote your site when you finish it, That should be a pretty funny site!

Same here RPK,
I have my own list of Premiums that I may grab, and keep going back to it, and I am also having to cross regged names off of the list constantly.
I was gonna grab Safety earlier today, and see that it was regged a few days ago, lol

Nice grab of forecast.:)

Last half an hour I registered 3 former premiums:

Dingo (it's just brandable)
Variete (just search in Google.de for this word and you will understand why I did it :)
Waterbeds (tons of videos at youtube - provided mainly by my Endusers :)

P.S. Thanks Tech.tv for the list in another thread :)

variete and waterbeds I could see...

If it was bingo it would have been great...but Dingo is a dog, and a wild one at that. Am I missing something here?

wasn't bingo a dog too?

There was a farmer who had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o.

Yes Dingo is a dog, sure :) But I see it mainly like a brand. For example Panda is bear, but what a strong brand it is!

Why Dingo is a good name and what it can be related:
1. Dingo are living only in Australia, so it could be a good brand for Australian based company (some Australian companies are working under brand Dingo). Dingo is almost like Kangaroo (BTW Kangaroo.tv is a developed website).
2. Dingo is a dog, so it could be dog's related .tv channel. I think it's the most famous name/kind of a dog - cause when we say Dingo - everybody understand what are we talking about :)
3. Dingo sounds cool - so it could be used for anything :)

I understand your rationale, but the only thing I remember about the dingo is the infamous line..."the dingo ate mah baby" from a movie and a Seinfeld episode, so it kinda doesn't connect with me.

But it may be a great brand for an Aussie, I just don't know.

in .tv a good brandable most often beats a great generic in terms of end-user interest from what i'm currently observing.

I don't think this is a .TV thing.

I don't have any pure evidence to back this up but .com has become keyword obsessed and this has created two types of markets.

.TV on the other hand is in the interesting position of having available keywords and being readily brandable. It doesn't yet suffer the domainer/raw traffic obsession and high entry cost.

I've been reading and watching a lot about advertising. Brick and mortar budgets SLASHED. Online budgets are up - however, the returns required are more than juts traffic numbers but real ANALYTICS.

The 2010 marketing direction is all about BRAND ENGAGEMENT and brand analytics. Studies have also shown that people respond to domains and ignore keywords... PARTICULARLY in the savvy Gen Y market. They have grown up with keywords representing traffic whoring. It's one of the reasons why CTR on technical domains is generally harder than non-technical domains.

Keyword domains are for traffic monetization. Brand names are there for BRAND monetization. This is why I predict a HUGE FUNDAMENTAL change to the domaining industry in 5-10 years where the domain name is no longer important OUTSIDE of being a BRAND. Everything will be cloud/portfolio/semantically linked. You will be accessible by your brand and "keywords" are secondary.

Future speculation you can view as nonsense. Current statement is how the world is. Branding is now the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT thing for ANY COMPANY to ENGAGE in. PERIOD.
