Anyone else registering 3D domains?

It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

I posted a list a page back how about you look at it, I see 1 possible problem with guess3d and when it's a trivial pursuit type of site the TM issue won't be a problem. I really don't care about the DM game in fact when I bought my first 3d domain it was MY IDEA and I did not get any help or advise from the internet or friends. Its only after I scored 110 names did I see I was not alone and I made a few mistakes hitting TM names but hey ya live and learn. I have no doubt my 60 names will bring in over 5 million when this thing gets hot, Heck 3dmobilenetwork alone is going to be a 7 figure pay day You can take that to the bank Danno

A phrase including the words "hell" & "snowballs" comes to mind. :bah:

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Your understanding of how the domain-game works is almost child-like.

Your names will not bring in "over 5 million", they will not bring in "over 500,000", they will not bring in "over 50,000", they will not bring in "over 5,000", they will not bring in "over 500" and more likely than not, they will not bring in "over 50".

You do understand that the people on ebay selling those names for those prices never, ever, ever sell them, right? Like, yes, they ask 50,000,000 for some absurd, garbage name, but that's only because their understanding of the domain name aftermarket is on par with yours... It isn't some reflection of atual potential as much as it is a reflection of one persons cluelessness and delusion? You understand this, right?

1) Ok where in my original post did I write Queries or Results ?

This is what you posted,

When I registered 3dtvkit and 3dtvkits, there was virtually no targeted search for the terms. ie. "3dtvkit" "3dtvkits". Taking a look today, the singular now has 6,400 whilst the plural only has 879. So an increasing number of people are searching for the terms. You can actually watch 3D movies on tv now, if you have the right equipment.

From the stats from google, ie the stats showing what people are searching for, the terms together have 36 searches per month. Like I said you looked at search results and confused it with what people are searching for.

2) You chose the domain with the lowest search as your example. Obviously the plural which gives less than 1000 will show more of my input than the singular with 6400.
There are plenty of mentions of 3d tv kit on the pages I can see.

The results for "3d tv kit" are little different to the plural, mainly duplicate results and indexed posts from you posting here and content from your own site. I counted 3 legitimate usages of "3d tv kit" which wasn't by you.

Once again click beyond the first page and you get the message "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 14 already displayed."

Google

I do understand how to use keyword tool.

If you know how to use it why are you claiming thousands of people per month are searching for these terms?

I think even the 3d fans would be cringing whilst reading this.

It may be helpful to compare and contrast 3dmobilenetwork.com with 3gmobilenetwork.com. "3g mobile network" is an exact logical phrase describing a real mobile communications network that saturates the globe. Ten years old, based on international standards, hundreds of millions of users. Big players: AT&T, Qualcomm, Verizon, NTT DoCoMo, etc. Do any of them want the domain name 3gmobilenetwork.com? Apparently not. It was hand regged 25-sep-2009 and sits parked at godaddy. What about the hundreds of millions of users walking around with 3g phones in their pocket? They rack up lots of minutes but few (480/mo) bother to search the exact phrase. Maybe the giants of industry and consumers are already jumping on 4gmobilenetwork.com? Not exactly. 210/mo exact search, hand regged 20-june-2009, parked.

Now think about "3d mobile network". Three* (3) serp results. Zero keyword search. Why? It's a kludge phrase. People are gung ho about 3d displays but no one cares or thinks about "3d mobile network" or any "[prefix] mobile network". Mobile networks will support 3d handsets, but the sober truth remains ... 3dmobilenetwork.com was better off sleeping at verisign.

* nonsense phrase "metal egg salad" has 3170 serp ... ouch

Hey 3D'ers, just some advice, there are some good deals around if you are willing to go and search for them. I have just made another nice purchase IMO

I will post the name as soon as the deal is done.

I think that is likely to be a far better strategy than the fresh reges that are currently going.

Anyone else registering 3D domains?

Just picked up 3D Homes-tv
Some pretty decent numbers, ad's, and a lot of products out there already pushing 3D Home Design, Virtual Tours, etc. and all other extensions for that term are gone.
I believe it fits this .tv extension perfectly.

GreenGambler,
I really think you did well with your vision (get it) of the 3d side effects, and eye damage domains!
Those are 2 potentially great domains, of course depending on how this technology pans out.

Well either way, there will be those unattended kids who sit in front of their tv's for hours on end, with their newest 3D Video games, and I am sure that will definitely start a debate that will only grow as quickly as this technology grows. Maybe someone should go register 3DLawsuits.com - lol.

I wish you the best of luck Bro!

I was going to take it easy for a while, but considering all the differences in quality and possible side effects with 3d systems made me get one more:

best3dsystem.com

It might work okay for a 3d systems comparison site.

Absolutely.

When I see that domain, I believe it makes me think of gaming "systems"
which we all know very well, they will not going away anytime soon!

which brings up another point,
Do you think the 3D gaming will take off bigger than 3D tv programming/shows?

I am not talking about Movies at the Theatre.
They are here already,
matter of fact during American Idol tonight they had 2 - 3D Movie Commercials,
Alice in Wonderland (opening this weekend in 3D, and Clash of the Titans)

Oh, and a sidenote - For some reason during the Clash of the Titans Movie Commercial
they said "Clash of the Titans 3D, and also will be showing in 2D".
Just a crazy way out there thought...
Could one day, all Movies be in 3D, and that would be the norm?
If so, then the Studio's would be referring to those once in a while movies in 2D?
Not like I'm gonna reg any but just a silly thought, lol
