Detected Domains is a series in which we look at the activities of premium domain names and prominent portfolio owners to discover their recent purchases and sales. We hope that this series is inspirational, informative or just interesting for you. In this edition, we find several domain names that have been sold by Anything.com, and several high value domain names have changed ownership in China.
The domain name 92.com may have sold in China as the registrant and email address have both changed within the past week. Elsewhere in China, 822.com has been acquired by a client of brokerage company 62.com.
Media Options looks to have sold the domain name Lapland.com at some point this year as the domain moved under privacy protection at @Uniregistry. The company also acquired MJ.news this year.
4.CN acquired several three-letter .COM’s. Beijing.com also changed WHOIS details recently, moving to an @midai.com email address. Midai.com offers a P2P lending service where domain names can essentially be mortgaged, so it’s not clear whether Beijing.com has been sold, or whether it has been used by the owner to raise funds.
@Reflex Publishing Inc bought refrigerators.com.
Anything.com sold four three-letter .COM’s to the same Chinese domain investor.
Anything.com also sold Blogging.com. The domain moved under privacy at Uniregistry and now shows a basic WordPress website.
@Frank.Schilling sold xtrax.com and unroll.com last week among many other sales.
588.com may have been sold by 62.com in China as it has moved into 62.com’s Escrow account. The domain previously sold for $1 million in September 2015.
The domain name lllllllll.com (that’s 9 L’s) entered @Sedo’s Escrow account after selling for $2,500 recently.
In a recent SEC filing, Travelzoo confirmed they sold the domain name Fly.com to a third party. Travelzoo paid $1.8 million for the domain name in 2009.
