Spaceship Spaceship
In this week's Top Topics, the community asks whether new gTLD extensions can ultimately make your own .COM domain names more valuable. We also find out what various investors think are the top three ccTLD extensions in terms of investment quality, and we have a fantastic list of five questions to ask yourself before registering a new domain name.

What Are the Top 3 ccTLDs for Investors?

Many bloggers and industry leaders preach the adage "stick to .COM", and with good reason. If you look at the highest sales every week, chances are that they are dominated by .COM. In fact, this week's DNJournal chart shows that 13 of the top 20 sales of this week are .COM.

However, are ccTLDs also worth investing in? Investor @deez007 has asked the community for their input to help decide the best three ccTLDs for domain investors. The Indian .IN extension seems to be a highly popular suggestion.

Do New gTLDs Make Your .COMs more valuable?

Domain investor @tomcarl has shared his experiences of potential buyers trying to negotiate a better price for a .COM domain by using a new gTLD extension as a negotiating tactic. Potential buyers stating that they can get the same keyword in another extension is a fairly regular occurrence, but does this mean that your .COM domain becomes more or less valuable, considering all these other options.

It can be argued either way. In this discussion, the opening comments support the fact that .COM domains become more valuable with the introduction of new gTLDs. What's your opinion?

The .com becomes more valuable since the introduction of new gTLD? It depends the needs for it and how much that buyer is willing to pay. Either, if it is new gTLD or the .com gang era. I'm not claiming as an expert of DN investing; but we do all knows that great dn will sell vs lousy dn. And this goes to new gTLD and the .com gang era.
