This edition of Detected Domains is lead by the news that eBay Korea bought the domain name g9.com for $1.5 million in December 2016. The news comes courtesy of James Booth (@BoothDomains) from BQDN.com, who spoke with eBay Korea earlier today.
After offering to buy the domain, James was told that eBay Korea had acquired the domain name in December 2016 for $1.5 million. According to DomainIQ, G9.com was owned by a Chinese investor until early January 2017 when the name moved into the possession of eBay Korea. Currently, the name isn't hosting any website.
eBay already owns g9.co.kr, a website that offers many products and services to its Korean clients including clothing, beauty products and appliances. So it's highly likely that the domain will be used in conjunction with this service. The domain name has an Alexa ranking of 248 in South Korea.
Elsewhere, BrandBucket sold the domain name Solantra.com.
Future Media Architects sold EQH.com to Equus Holdings.
Shane Cultra (@Domain Shane) sold RollingMachines.com and bought glwc.com.
4.CN acquired jhj.com and 9166.com.
The domain name ABNB.com cleared @Sedo's Escrow process. The obvious buyer would be AirBnB, but the domain is currently under privacy at @Dynadot so the buyer is unknown.
Media Options may have sold Dragonfly.com as it has moved under privacy to a Uniregistry account. As of writing, the domain name is still redirecting to MediaOptions.com. Media Options also acquired Impala.com, as announced on this week's Domain Sherpa show.
Andy Booth (@andyboothsi) sold FFT.com to China. The domain currently hosts a simple page with the name "Future FinTech".
Oliver Hoger acquired HUC.com through Sedo.
@Rick Schwartz bought JustHelp.com through a Pheenix.com auction.
