This post relates to the copyings.com appraisal thread, which was closed by the OP, so impossible to follow up on:

(Dear mods, if I am posting this in the wrong section or violating some forum regulation, I apologise :))

So, I was a bit baffled when someone asserted that the OP had copied another website to pretend he had sold his domain, so I contacted the alleged buyer of the domain to find out for a fact and this is what he responded:

xxxxxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The copying.com website is not ours, but now that we know about it we are working on getting it taken down. We sincerely appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and would like to give you a 5% discount on an order that you may decide to place with us in the future. If you don't have an account with us you can just save this email, and send it to us if you ever decide to place an order, and we'll honor it.

Thank you
xxxxx xxxxxx

Hi,

I noticed that your website is also displayed on the domain copyings.com.

Do you use both these domains as a sales platform now?

Kind regards

So, as you can see, the OP has indeed copied Moxicopy's website without their permission to pretend that he sold his domain. Now the only question remains: Why? Why would someone bother to copy an entire website, graphics, codes and everything, just to win an argument with people they do not know on a forum they have never visited before? Some people just have too much time on their hands...

PS: Sorry for being harsh on those who rightfully questioned the OP's motives. You obviously saw something that I didn't.

I have no problem with someone questioning - people have jumped to conclusions before. Some cases are unclear such as the "NewYorkApartmentsForRent" (I think that's what it is) being one - I don't think Berkens has a reason to lie.

This one had about 100 red flags. Can't be bothered to list any of them unless someone really cares but the most obvious is that a moderate sized franchised company would not ever put up a non-working site on a terrible and meaningless domain on another hosting provider from their main site in one day.

I do think quoting a Chinese authored paper as a source for the word "copyings" was quite amusing.

I don't think the OP should be overly embarrassed by the name itself - but the cover up was always just going to backfire. Stupid Stupid Stupid.. he had people (GilesColey) willing to help FOR FREE and blew it off.

First i thought this is forwarded with masking or something.
But the guy really did that?

Also the copy of the contract he posted and filled with some "xxxxx" should be proof?.
It is a copy of the template offered here for instance:
http://www.DNF/f26/end-user-requesting-documentation-please-help-thread-494673.html

Not that he must prove anything to us, just want to mention that it is useless to quote a part of some sales contract template and present it as proof. Also closing the thread after some "uncomfortable" questions were asked, is not a good sign! Whois is also still the same?

Btw, the 5% discount from moxycopy is really not that interesting, more like something for free would be better, smart guy, wants to take down the fake site and have a new customer (you) at the same time :D

Yeah. And why? He didn't even know anyone here, shouldn't matter to him what we think. Considering how much time goes into putting up a functioning website: if he has that much time on his hands, he may develop some of my parked domains if he wants. Or come to think of it, maybe not.

*hehe* the guy actually comes across as a poser and wannabe expert who likes to lecture the seasoned domainers on their trade.
Not the first, nor the last...

Some noobz just have no clue.

He sure does :) And he did not have the presence of mind to privacy register the domain before pulling such a stunt either.
